It's not a 5 star hotel, it's 3 at best. If you manage your expectations based on that, you'll be fine. We had to cut our stay short as the room we had was in the top of the converted barn and the bedroom has no opening windows. It was beyond hot. Granted we were there on a very hot day, but it would most likely be like that on any summer day. Most of the Staff were friendly and helpful but reception rarely seemed manned. The food was below decent pub grub with a very limited selection - the evening menu was pretty much identical to the lunch menu. The hotel itself is in need of some tlc as it's obvious that maintenance has fallen behind.

It's a great location and setting, so if you think average 3 star and you'll be fine.

I have never had someone treat me like this- especially at a supposedly 5 star hotel where we were paying 300 a night.
We were really excited to stay here and the area is beautiful, as is the building but even before we arrived this certain woman working there called and said "I really hope you are on the way" even thought we told them we wouldn't be there till 10 because we had to work then drive up. Then she proceeded to tell us there would be no food anywhere near the hotel at that time of night (10pm)...ok fine.
When we arrived she was certain we had a dog (no idea why..) and continued to ask why we booked as if we had a dog and to call them directly next time (is it an inconvenience for them if we don't bring a dog??)
This woman was blatantly rude to us many times over the weekend but the worst was when we had dinner at the hotel- the dessert I got was so salty I could barely eat it and I figured the salt and the sugar had been accidentally mixed up. I am not a person to return food or even bring it up but this was so obvious a mistake I thought I should say something..Unfortunately the person to serve us was again the rude woman and she asked if "the dessert had beaten me." I replied no- and nicely said that the flavor was really good but I think someone might have accidentally switched the sugar and salt because the dessert was really salty..
She proceeded to grab MY fork and take a bite of the dessert and replied "its not salty".
Well this was just a blatant lie- my husband had tasted it as well and it was insanely salty. At this point I was over the whole thing and just walked out and left my poor husband to pay for the meal (of course we paid for the dessert).
We thought the worst was over but then my husband woke up projectile vomiting that night from the meal we had eaten at this hotel with food poisoning...
safe to say we will not be going back and the woman who was exceptionally rude is named Suzanne Farmer and I hope you never have to meet her.

I hadn't been to Peterstone Court for many years until recently, however,I was a regular visitor at one time. It's a lovely spot, with a fantastic atmosphere. The terrace and outdoor seating area at the back of the building is particularly pleasant in the afternoon sunshine! I look forward to calling again soon. Highly recommended.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but called in for food. There was no ambience. We were the only customers on a Saturday night being sat at 19:30 (says it all). The food was very average. The menu read nicely and I’m sure they are spending good money on quality ingredients but the execution was poor. I had the pork 3 ways and it was very poor. Drinks were not made correctly and alternative staff were called in to correct the order. I put no blame on what appear to be inexperienced staff but instead think that management is lacking. The place has so much potential but was a shame and a waste of a night out.

Nice place but very poor selection of drinks and the staff behind the bar had zero knowledge on making drinks. Customers were teaching the staff. However all staff were very polite

My daughter and son in law got married here this week, the whole day was special, Susanne the wedding planner was exceptional, she made sure the happy couple had everything they could wish for and all the guests were happy and comfortable, all the staff were lovely, the venue and the grounds is stunning I would definitely recommend, the spa is a lovely addition to relax before and after the event. No fault with the food again excellent. I can’t thank the staff enough for making the day so very special.

What a lovely place, very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely view from every window, I came here for a spa break that my lovely friends booked for my birthday. It was just what I needed, and the staff were lovely. My only qualm would be the massage wasn't intense enough for my personal liking, but again can't fault the spa itself. Lovely, calming relaxation room, great food and drinks and a wonderful back garden with pool!
