Beautiful. I love it down here. So peaceful. Well worth a visit.

Take binoculars and a good camera. Tranquil walks around the marsh land. We spotted a kestrel, but couldn't make out the other bird species there. There's a hide overlooking the salt marsh. Apparently high tide is a good time to go as you can see grey seals and lots of birds.

This stretch of coast is a protected nature reserve. Well placed bird hide, many waders to be seen all year round. Grass areas now managed by Highland Cattle. Good cafe in the car park. Interesting walks around the coast. Seals often visible at the river inlet sand banks.

A peaceful day can be had here with free parking by the viking ship a great little cafe with toilet facilities. The reserve has nice walks a new improved play park and the old hoverport has warm shallow water with none of the crowds of other nearby beaches.

Plenty of benches. Parking available on site at a cost, or on the road for free. Lovely views even in winter. Cycle track links between here and Ramsgate and in the other direction Pfizer and Sandwich

Good for dog walking and bird spotting, particularly coastal wading birds. It's probably not the most picturesque nature reserve, but paths are well marked and a café hut in the car park
