Over the past fourteen days I have tried to contact the Probate office, like everyone else I found the number continually engaged. Even in the middle of the night. I have contacted B.T they say there is nothing wrong with the line. Deep breath no I would be dead by now waiting for them to respond. Its hard enought dealing with all the things you have to do when someone dies, this just makes it harder. This whole system needs to be reviewed.

I have to agree with several other reviewers that I have tried constantly over the last two days (80 times so far) and I am calling from abroad and their number is always engaged. From the moment the office opens to the very end of the day. Can someone please check the telephone line or equipment to ensure there isn't a fault. Thank you.

Contacted Ipswich Probate Office several times by email and, although they warn you it may take up to 10 days to respond, my experience is that they get back to you much quicker - sometimes on the same day!

Nothing changes, permanently busy phone, even out of hours. Sorry to sound like an old fogey but this really isn't good enough. I have to pay by card over the phone (no cheque book) and there's no on-line means of payment. I'm hamstrung - greatly adds to stress and delay. As apparently it's been like this for years they must know about it. Doesn't matter how helpful and efficient they are if you can't get through.

Over 10 weeks and still waiting for a simple grant of probate. The phone is permanently busy and they don't reply to emails. It's bad enough that I'm dealing with grief. Now I have the stress of not knowing what is going on with the estate, especially as I have bills and loans that are now being demanded from it.

I have been trying to get through for over 3 weeks calling different times of the day and even at night and still engaged!!! I was told that the ipswich office is now dealing my deceased relatives estate who lived miles away from there and is not the local probate office as i was told that all cases go to a form of hub now and are allocated to whoever!!! Just hope im not expected to travel aswell!! Not impressed im sorry to say....

I tried numerous times to get through to the Ipswich office but upon calling the Probate helpline I got through immediately and got the help I needed. Apparently the Ipswich office is now a sub office so anything you send them is sent on to Newcastle-upon-Tye Probate office for processing so you may as well avoid contacting the Ipswich office altogether.

Absolutely DISCRACEFUL for a government department to not answer phone calls! I have been trying to phone 4 separate probate registrys up and down the country and NONE of them answer there phones. I have an extremely urgent request to remove a caveat in order to avoid a court case, the caveat needs to be removed by the 15th June at the latest and I am being prevented from doing so just becouse they will not answer phone calls!
I am in my 70s and disabled and I am not computer literate so can not do this on line, I need to speak to a human being in order to obtain information as to how to remove a caveat that I placed upon the estate in question in 2015. By the very fact that you don't answer phone calls you are forcing an expensive court case to take place needlessly.
