Such a peaceful and we'll looked after place.

Thank you to the conciliation and all the staff for maintaining it all so well and always being respectful to the gifts left on grace for our loved ones xxx❤💚💗💖💕💓

Found two druggies in the male toilet doing whatever in the cubicle reported it to the crematorium but nobody came to deal with it like the said they would never mind there was two funerals going on it just didnt matter to them obviously. I would have not given the one star rating but unless I did no review

Beautiful grounds , some of the most grand trees to be seen but you have to look at them. The grounds are well kept by the Council and the general public.
If I had one fault to find it
would be dogs

Last year I attended my Uncle's funeral there. Our family had to wait an agonising five weeks for a slot at the crematorium. Had my Uncle not stipulated that particular venue, we would have had him cremated elsewhere.

The service and facilities fine were fine. But on leaving the service, the funeral cortege had to reverse backwards on the way out - due to an incoming funeral. We were on our way to the church service. Not very dignified at all. Two months later, I telephoned to arrange my Uncle's ashes to be collected, the telephone call was not politely handled at all. There was no greeting or salutation when the call was answered, and the gentlemen was very abrupt. I really felt as though my call had somehow been an inconvenience. At no point had I been impolite, etc. It made me wonder that if staff spoke to bereaved families that way, how on earth do they behave behind the scenes?

My dad was cremated here recently, it was a wonderful, simple, beautiful goodbye.

Penny helped massively in planning the service, and the minister on the day was just the right mix of engaging, funny, warm and reverent.

My list of songs were played out perfectly, and the service ended on a light note. We were allowed time under the canopy as it rained to catch up with family and friends after the funeral, and didn't feel rushed or anything.

I couldn't have been more pleased with Dad's last journey, thank you Penny and team at the Crematorium, and the team at Hunnaballs of Colchester too.

Whilst attending a funeral on lockdown for covid-19, I have to say we had no problems here at all, although they limited it to 10 people only, I was a little disappointed as there was plenty of room for everyone to keep the 2m distancing and have more people,
maybe worth noting if extras from the same household. They were having maintenance done of the toilets, and staff was limited. But everything went to plan.

Surprisingly no road signs on the main road. All the other cematoria we have had the sa duty to attend are well signe but not this one. Be aware that sat nav may incorrectly show it on the opposite side of the main road from the cemetry. We spent the best part of half an hour trying to find any one who knew where it was. Eventually found it just in time for the service. A nice buiding and nice surrondings when you finally find it.
