Rose Hill Dental Surgery

Visited the Practice last July for a chipped tooth. The dentist drilled much more of the tooth than needed to come out, ended up needing a filling. Opted for a white filling and as he was sanding it down it was very sharp. I asked him if he could make this smooth numerous times and he said “I don’t know, I can’t see it”. Left feeling very frustrated, fed up with going back and forth. 6 months later the filling has come out, compacted on the next tooth and lodged into my gums. Spent the day at another (more reputable) dentist having the defective filling removed from two teeth and my gums - not pleasant.

Would not visit again. Would not recommend to friends or family, wouldn’t recommend to the reader of this review.

However! The assistant nurse was very friendly, and addressed all concerns with professionalism, however I appreciate she was not a dentist, she was very caring. That’s the only positive thing I can say.

Sana has been my dentist for the past couple of years. She is very professional, informative and has taken great care of dental needs; including a very successful root canal and porcelain crown. Thank you very much.

Don't often leave reviews but felt compelled to write one after my experience with Rosehill Dental Surgery.

Everyone's experience is unique to them, and having read some of the reviews below I wasn't expecting great things to be honest. but I couldn't have been more wrong.

I'll start by saying I am not an easy customer, I don't like any aspect of dental work and with this being a new dentist I was especially sheepish on my first visit. I was assessed by Dr Chowdhury (hopefully I haven't butchered his surname) and quite quickly I was made to feel at ease. I found him extremely personable, patient, transparent throughout the whole process but more importantly he knew when to get a second opinion from his superior, Sana. No ego, didn't go in all guns blazing.

Yes the treatment was painful, but it could have and should have been way worse (my own fault). Thought I'd need an extraction and instead I've walked away with a tidy white filling. They found me an appointment with an hours notice and took me on as an NHS patient even though I was prepared to pay to go private. The repeat appointment was within two weeks, bearing in mind most dentists are quoting 8-10 weeks.

Great service, quality dentist, great bloke. Would reccomend Dr Chowdhury to anyone.

Side note; seen reviews about the receptionists being miserable and rude, in particular the 'blonde woman'. Can I just say these members of staff behind the desk were nothing but pleasant even when I was 10 minutes late, happy to share a laugh and a joke. Maybe its the geordie way but manners go a long way with people especially with people who are battling the backlogs of covid.

I was seen by a new dentist my whole jaw face feels extremely weak due to the filling I called dentist today they have advised me I need to wait until 830am tomorrow ill give the dentist a call tomorrow to make a appointment. I've never had trouble with any off the other regular dentist I've seen but the man I saw just started a few weeks back and everything since my face feels weak jaw hurts and very red inside mouth I did explain its getting extremely painful

Excellent dentist. I had a whole load of treatment with my teeth and it was completed without a hitch within a couple of months.

Throughout, I actually had a trainee dentist (Dr. Yong) and she was truly outstanding from beginning to end, like I literally have absolutely zero complaints. Super nice, very informative and gentle but firm during the dental work. If she hadn't had told me she was a trainee, I would've assumed she had been doing this for many years. Hope she stays long-term!

I met a few of their other more senior dentists for very short times and they were good from what I experienced. The receptionists, particularly Wendy, are pleasant and helpful too; e.g. I was late a few times and they sorted it instantly. Also, I had a couple of different dental assistants also involved - all good there, too.

My only complaint would be the lack of a web presence for the dentist; it would be more convenient if they had a website, for example. That's a very minor 'issue', if you can even call it that, though. Highly recommended.

Amazing service, excellent dentist and a very friendly and helpful dental nurse. I booked an emergency appointment via 111 as my back tooth was infected and painful. I was originally referred to hospital to remove the tooth, but waiting time was months. The dentist managed the pull out the tooth without needing further hospital appointment. I received after care advice and I am really pleased with the treatment I received at Rose Hill Dental Surgery. Thank you very much.

The dentist here is amazing! She’s so friendly, and made me feel really comfortable when I got my fillings done. I literally have such a huge phobia of dentists and getting any work done, but she assured me I wouldn’t be in any pain throughout the entire procedure, she explained everything she was going to do before she did it, and made sure I was fully numbed up before anything! Amazing work, thank you so much! 🙏🏽

Really amazing service. I got referred through 111 and got seen within hours. All the staff were incredibly friendly and COVID-19 security was a priority. I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment and my dentist Camilla stood out due to how professional and caring she was. A brilliant practice which puts patients needs first. Cannot recommend enough.
