I've just joined after struggling to find an NHS dentist to take me on to complete root canal treatment. I can't fault the service, the office staff were friendly and helpful, booking me in for an immediate evaluation with Dr Eitharhuni. This went well and I came away reassured after he explained what would happen next.
A treatment plan is now sorted and appointments already booked in. Very clean and spacious waiting areas. Glad I've joined this practice.

This dental practice is superb !!!!! Sundas and Lauren are so sweet, courteous and professional looking after you all the way whilst you have treatment. The reception staff are polite and organised and the surgery and reception area is spotless and comfy. Cannot fault the practice in anyway well done to you all and Thankyou for how you look after me.

I went to this dentist after waiting for ages during the pandemic to get even registered at a dentist, Dr Khan is amazing, he's polite, friendly very reassuring throughout its the first time I've been to a dentist and felt reassured and and wish he had been my dentist sooner I would have attend all my appointments

I'm an NHS patient who hasn't been to the dentist in over 10 years. I finally got back in the system after needing some help with a painful abscess. I was very anxious but the staff at Portland are extremely friendly and my dentist Dr. Khan was very professional. He took the appointment at a speed comfortable to me and talked me through the whole process. Can't recommend them enough. Great practice.

So much for a family dentist. Took my daughter who is just under 2 and because she wouldn’t open her mouth straight away - made me out to be useless because I didn’t make her watch ‘cartoons of the dentist’ before - I told him I had been talking about the dentist all day and how to open our mouths. Won’t be going back. I think it’s the fact it’s named Family dentist - just say no children if you can’t make the effort to make them feel less scared about the dentist!

Terrible experience here. Granted I have not been to the dentist in a number of years due to financing issues and covid. However, I rang the number on the website to try to book an appointment. This was booked and I was told I had an appointment at 17:20. This was tricky as I work about 40 minutes away - however, I left work 2 hours early to attend the appointment given the discomfort and pain I was in.

Upon arrival I was told I didn’t not in fact have an appointment and I wasn’t “even a patient here” and “we’re not even taking on new nhs patients” - this is despite the fact I had spoken to their representative that morning and the huge sign on the side of the building that states otherwise.

I explained that I had called their number to be told that they don’t always answer the phone, at which point it gets passed to their head office. Whether I spoke to someone at the practice or their head office is irrelevant. I was told I had an appointment and no issue was raised about not attending for years. My records were found and I was booked in. I was left completely distressed and at a loss. The receptionists response was to suggest I pay for private care to mitigate their mistake.

Due to the incompetent, ignorant and unhelpful staff I have suffered with extreme anxiety over the past few days and have been left in floods of tears for 3 days.

When I raised my concern and annoyance at the time of the appointment I was told to call their complaints team; this I did to be told the complaints team had gone home and would call me the next day. I’m still waiting….

I have never been treated so poorly and with such lack of empathy and I find the treatment unacceptable and disgusting given that the error lay entirely with them.

Whilst I could have acted with more decorum myself and have not gotten so emotional and emotive in my own behaviour, I feel this was a direct result of not only my pain and discomfort but also their handling of the situation.

I would advise trying elsewhere if you want a warm smile and basic customer service!

Saved up for a year to have a replacement bridge, the dentist who started the prep work didn’t know what she was doing, I asked for another dentist who was more experienced. She has fitted the bridge which is a perfect fit but the colour of the teeth don't match, she gave me a choice of two teeth colours to choose from but the lighting in the room didn’t show the true colour. I tracked down the lab who made them in Hucknall and they said I should of been sent to them to be colour matched. Not happy with the colour and I spent a lot of money, the dentist doesn’t want to know unless I pay again, neither does the head office. The reception were very sympathetic.

Took my daughter's in today for the first time. Dr Hamza Khan is fantastic. He explained the process in detail and made my girls feel at ease. Great experience.
