I'm stuck with several broken, damaged & painful teeth until NOVEMBER as they claim not to have any appointments until then.
I emailed a few days ago, asking for advice - but any sort of reply is obviously too much to ask for!
One particular receptionist there is awful, really shouldn't be working with people!
Had awful nerve pain where a filling had fallen out, causing me to have to live on painkillers while wanting to rip my own teeth out. We moved here a year ago and haven't been able to get registered anywhere. I rung 111 who managed to get me an emergency appointment here. I went in full of hope that I'd be out of pain by the end of the appointment. Dentist I saw said because I could feel the pain everywhere, he couldn't be sure what tooth would need to be pulled out....I did say I had a filling fall out but there we go. Was given antibiotics, asked for stronger painkillers and was told just keep taking ibuprofen and paracetamol. I did mention I'm taking codeine but that's only taking the edge off.
Antibiotics did nothing apart from make me ill, and I tried to get through another two weeks of pain before ringing the practice to ask for an emergency appointment. I was told they don't have any, they only take emergency for certain things (didn't even ask why I needed it, and I was in 10/10 pain which is one of the criteria) and to ring around. In desperation I rang the dentist I'm registered at 2 and a half hours away who could get me in the next day. So my daughter had to miss school for me to go as there was no one else for the school run (husband was at work) and the difference there was unrral. She said yes there is a hole where a filling has fallen out, there was no need to lose my tooth, she's cleaned it out and put a semi permanent filling over it and I'm back in the new year to finish treatment. I'm completely out of pain. Why couldn't that have been done in the first place? Needless to say I'd rather drive to my dentist in Essex then come back here.
