Re: Cancelling Appointments; this practice still cancels appointments, in the last 4 months they have cancelled mine twice, a few days or perhaps 7 days before and then new appointments are typically another month away. As with a similar review, appointments may have been made 3 or more months earlier.

Dentist suggested I get a white filling instead of a silver one on a molar without telling me there was a £ 20 difference in price. I had never had a filling before so he knew that I wouldn't know there was a price difference.

Very disappointed in this poor behaviour won't be spending ridiculous amounts of money there again.

This was my first dental appointment in over a decade.

I managed to register with Bupa Dental Care Colwyn Bay and upon arrival all the staff I met were friendly and welcoming. Reception did a check to whether I would be eligible for discounted treatment. I could have a free Examination but any over treatment I would have to pay for.

I wanted my mum to be alongside me during my check up and the staff were fine with that. I have Asperger's Syndrome so the uncertainty of what was going to happen at the dentist was making me a bit nervous. However the staff were really reassuring.

Prior to my appointment, I had a old baby tooth that hadn't come out. A new tooth had grown but the baby tooth was still attached. I had for at least a decade and I was concerned whether I had any underlining issues. Then just before my appointment, the baby tooth came out. What remained was about 5mm of the new tooth.

Back to present day, my name was called up and it was time for my examination to begin. The dentist and her colleague checked my funny tooth and they said it looked ok. I was absolutely made up!
They carried on with the check up and even gave my bottom teeth a really good clean. They also took an X-ray of my mouth as it was my first time with them.

I was really comfortable during the check up and the dentist and her colleague were very friendly.

After the check up, we confirmed what happened with Reception and was given a 6 month follow up. I had to pay extra for the X-ray and the cleaning, but it only cost £14.80. I was really made up.

Thank you Bupa Dental Care Colwyn Bay for a very pleasant experience.

Phoned to get registered and get sorted as I've been having dental issues... The for lack of a better word woman w,ho answered the phone was a rude, Spiteful creature. I mentioned my problem which to me is quite a big deal and her response was, 'well you're not a patient of ours'... Really professional team there you'd be better off pulling your teeth out with a snow plough.

Although the dentist seem to keep changing for NHS patients, I have always been treated in a professional manner by these lovely dentists. I am happy with their dental care.

I gave 3 stars for one reason. Despite the excellent care I have recieved after waiting years to find a practice to register as an NHS client, The decision to close which Bupa state is based on the £10,000 cost of installing the necessary air filtration and that the dentists are working at a lower time related efficiency due to the necessary covid safety requirements. Seriously? Bupa your blaming closure on a 10k expense and covid. The service is very much needed and will leave thousands unable to access nhs dental care. Get a Grip, BUPA, you are not exactly struggling for money!

Absolutely disgusting service, phoned on 29th December 2020 to try and book an emergency appointment for my mother, girl who answered the phoned had a couldn't care less attitude and told me to ring back on 4th January 2021 at 8am. Been trying since 8am today and attempted 151 calls since 8am. Phone rings twice and within 3 seconds the line hangs up! This is disgusting service and although they have advised they are closing, (but bot until February 2021) the Colwyn Bay practice is a disgrace to the profession! If I could give less than 1 star I would!

Always have a long wait, the appointments are never on time. Frequently being changed from one dentist to another and I have difficulty in understanding some of the information as the language is not always very clear.. On a good note the hygiene standards are good and the receptionist is always helpful and polite.
