John Lewis is know for its quality products for sale and excellent service. What has astounded me recently is the absolute first class standard of baby changing facilities. As a new dad I have to say their facilities set the standard for all others to aim for.

Helpful and knowledgable staff, and great customer service. However, why do they insist on putting the repungent perfume section near the entrance? It stinks, which leads to the next problem. Lack of signage. When you're holding your breath to avoid the godawful stench it would be really helpful to have clear signs telling you where to go for what

A purely wonderful shop and full of luxurious products. Well decorated and just interesting to go in. Love it.

Only went in to use Restaurant as I had a free breakfast bap with my John Lewis rewards.,but the bap was unavailable so stayed for coffee. Big mistake.
Really long que the after being served had to search for a clean/cleared table.
The restaurant is a disgrace to the John Lewis name.In my estimation I would say 70% of the empty tables were full with used crockery, bottles and cutlery with no member of staff even trying to clean up.But at least we had been greeted with a staff member handing out trays🤣🤣

Severely dissapointed with John Lewis recently.

I ordered a laptop in the black friday sale on a really good deal, only to get an email about 10 days later to say that there was no stock and they wont be getting any more. (If this was stated at the checkout, then I could have bought the item elsewhere also in the sale).

Instead, I was advised to cancel the order and place an 'in-store' order over the phone instead. So I did this but the store that was selected for me, because they had the most stock, was not local. The order was placed correctly, but the wrong item was delivered (64Gb model instead of 128Gb). I took the wrong item into my nearest store (about a 1-hour drive) because they said that they had the correct item in stock. When I arrived, it was also not the correct item (64Gb model). They checked a few items but all of them had the wrong label on so I suspect it's a nationwide issue. I asked if I could get refunded for the mid-range model, and pay the black friday price for the base model that was delivered, but they only offered today's price.

All of this was on top of having 3x 45min phone calls to the customer service centre.

This is very poor from John Lewis and the situation was never resolved. So I got a refund, but missed out on getting the laptop in the sale, which was the original goal. It's a shame because I was previouly a loyal customer. I will unlikely buy any technology from John Lewis again.

The only good part was the shop assistant in the store who was actually very plesent and helful. Everything else was terrible.

John Lewis is always a nice place to shop. Good quality products many of which are competitively priced although luxury items also sold. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable

Disappointed in John Lewis today. My mum booked a 90 minute appointment with the Beauty Society as I am getting married soon and I wanted to try some products and get advice. Unfortunately the person doing my makeup was off sick today. I was called 30 minutes before the appointment, after I'd already left home. I was offered to change to the Bobbi Brown counter but that wasn't what I wanted as I needed to try a range of products and the person on the phone said that wasn't possible. It is very difficult to arrange appointments and this had been booked for some time. I was asked to call back to rearrange, which I tried to do but was taken through a call centre who couldn't get hold of anyone in store. They left a message for the store to call be as they said there is no direct dial number for the store. It was a disappointing experience from John Lewis and I felt the person on the phone wasn't that interested in giving an apology or trying to rectify it. It was supposed to be a lovely pre-wedding experience but ended up leaving me feeling upset and like I was an inconvenience for not accepting the appointment at Bobbi Brown instead. I really expected more from John Lewis.

We decided to visit anyway, as we were already en route. Thankfully I did get to speak to a wonderful person on the MAC counter, who colour matched foundation, despite being the only staff member there, and she couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. She took the time to explain everything and made me feel better about the day.

Not sure what is happening at JL but enquired about a gift item. 3 employees sent me to 3 different departments and eventually customer services suggested on line might be easier!!! Really?? Definitely not enough staff on shop floor and some appear not to be fully acquainted with store plan. Shame.
