1. The shop has no phone so calling won’t do anything. Yes it has a number but no physical phone!
2. They are so tight with staff hours that mostly it will be 1 person on the till as there must be someone on the shop floor due to the size of shop. The other member is usually management.
3. Staff have no clue what deliveries are coming in, so can’t organise room for it. Usually it’s a surplus of things not needed, too much stock too little room and use of the back “stock room” is forbidden.
4. Higher management are in denial the stock won’t fit and many a time staff are just told “make it fit” hence store moves being done in opening hours.
5. On delivery days 2-3 staff are in from 5am to try and get the floor cleared for customers, however sometimes resources aren’t always there.
6. Yes the store is a mess but please don’t blame staff, they are powerless and have to follow guidance from management. Until higher management get real and see this is NOT the way to run a shop, the better. Appalling conditions, worse attitude, the best thing staff can do is get out - like I did
I would just like to say that after my last review I returned to the shop with my husband to do a bit of Xmas shopping , I was utterly disappointed and discussed that the shop had not improved at all , as you walk in there was Xmas decorations and boxes all over the floors which yet again were a disgrace, in fact it was so bad I put my shopping basket down and left the shop , please where are your management ??
This shop is the worst unorganised dirty shop I have ever Visited. Disgusting.
Staff were quite rude and abrubt when asking where an item was. I swear the lady rolled her eyes at me when I asked where the pet food was.
Just kind of your typical pound shop store I guess, stock just thrown around like a car boot sale. (Not pound shop prices either)
I recently used boyes in Darlington and today I thought it was extremely similar. Just very disorganised and tired.
Definitely agree with the comments about Marks and Spencer on here. Was such a better company, clean shop and champagne level customer service.
Won't be coming back in a hurry.
I always like to see the underdog succeed against established companies such as your rival tesco next door but you honestly aren't helping yourselves.
