It was of interest to read the previous review and share some of her comments in relation to staff interaction. They all seem to be busy doing other things than interaction with customers a d a smile or two might go a long way. But my experience was one of trying to get a refund for an article I bought for my future grandchild. A week ago purchased several articles but one in particular was ordered in store to be delivered to home address.Having received this I had a change of mind and the delivery note within the box said I could return to store which is what I did within 14 days. From that moment the service went downhill was told my name wasn't on their computer system how strange as I have bought several things over the years and get your brochure. I was told I couldnt get refund without original receipt but as I pointed out there is no mention of that on deliver statement. I just felt I was in the wrong. And asked to produce I'D . Rhiannon
aappeared to then offer to get the item returned to depot anda refund would then come from them .
It comes across that' it's a privelege to shop in White Company and customer service is secondary. One lost customer

lovely range of great quality items but on the few occasions I have visited the Guildford Tunsgate shop, the staff have been very slow to assist saying 'I'll be with you in a minute' and then carrying on chatting with colleagues. The shop has been void of customers but staff are still seem reluctant and slow to help. I expect more from a premium shop and will revert to shopping online. Shame.

It is such a shame and so disappointing for a large company to be so unhelpful. The £50 gift card I had was only a few days expired, but given Covid and my very poor health which I explained to customer service they still refused to honour the voucher.

Surely a gift card represents a prepaid cash sum banked with them, on the understanding that I can spend the value when I choose and therefore this feels like corporate theft. Putting an arbitrary end date to spend my money feels like pressure selling which as far as I’m aware is still illegal.

A sad and very dissatisfied former customer.

Now I know how Julia Roberts’ character feels in Pretty Woman! Maybe my friend and I didn’t look rich or posh enough to be in this branch of the White Company, but there were about 3 or 4 staff members that took turns very un-surreptitiously watching/following us as we walked around the store. My friend and I are not Caucasian so hope it wasn’t racially motivated! It certainly felt like it as we were the only people who weren’t white in the shop (including staff) and were the ones being watched. It felt awkward and uncomfortable as it became so blatant so just left without buying anything! Oh well, meant we were able to spend more money on a lovely handbag in Anthropologie and a pot from Le Creuset, but wanted to leave a review in case this was happening to other customers. Maybe management could have a word with their staff to practice better customer service rather than making shoppers feel like criminals for browsing!

Busy Saturday. Staff came to my rescue almost immediately when I was trying to look at a product up on the shelf. I really appreciate it as I have other shopping bags in my hand so hard for me to reach it. She even showed similar other products too. So thank u for making it swift and fun shopping.

Worst service ever at the Guildford store. Employees unwilling to help. Not interest what so ever. Extremely stuck up. Two of them ‘slagging off’ the previous customer saying we don’t want people like that coming here. When they saw me and my wife looking at them, they stop the conversation. Asked to but three of the very large Winter candles to be told they do not come in that size. Bought the medium to then see when we got home they do sell them. Spent £500 to receive the worse service ever and the rudest not interested till person who then asked do I want a bag. Not sure how she expected me to carry the eight candles. The total came to £560. The customer service is even worse. Called them to be told to send an email. First email came back saying they would pass on my feedback. I wrote back saying, what feedback as I had not sent any as I asked for a call back from someone. Got another email with still no attention to what I have request so I have decided to let people know great quality items served to you by people who look down on you and think they are better than everyone else.

Stuck up staff who were unwilling to help. We were the only 2 people in the shop and the response to asking about a pair of shoes was....
• We’re a bit short staffed at the moment so you’ll will have to wait (she was sorting clothes on a rail whilst the other lady was standing on the till doing nothing)
• We are not a shoe shop so don’t have much stock
• I’m not sure we will have your size (but didn’t go and check)

Utterly abhorrent way to treat customers. My girlfriend now knows how Julia Roberts felt in Pretty Woman when she went shopping. Didn’t seem to want our money.
