Love the works, small shop and at times difficult to walk round when busy or pushchairs as small isles

The Works never now stock as interesting stuff as they used to...

There are often a good selection of heavily discounted books, stock changes dramatically, the sort of place you have to keep checking frequently to see what they have. I've picked up well known authors for £1. Only downside is lack of space, but understandable for the value.

The Works is so much better now it's moved to a larger shop. It feels spacious and airy, a vast improvement on the previous store that I found to be cramped.
Good selection of books when I visited although it does seem that stock levels can vary from week to week.
Staff polite and friendly. A lovely clean shop with defined areas mapped out which I like in a shop.

I've been in a lot of these shops and they are all ok, BUT this one in Chesterfield has to be the best so far. The staff were happy and bubbly they were chatting and laughing with customers. The store lay out was by far the easiest to get round for my wife on her mobility scooter. All in all well deserved 5 stars. Well done The works Chesterfield.

I adore this shop especially the craft section, the stationery and their reasonably priced artist stuff. So I tend to make a b-line for The Works whenever I'm in the vicinity of one.

Enjoyed going to the works store at vicar lane chesterfield last Wednesday with my friends they is a lot books and notebooks and art stuff to choose from at that store in chesterfield and it is more space around the store since they moved from the old store near the Burlington pub a few years ago and the staff are very friendly and patient with me when I have been served

I absolutely love this shop. Everytime I visit my friend who lives in Chesterfield The Works is always one shop we both head for.
