Gloucester City Council Reception @ The Gateway

Does anyone work here anymore? Needed help with a housing form, sorry can’t help, and no we don’t send out proper forms anymore! Needed a fridge taken away no one there to answer the phone had to leave a message after hanging on ten minutes, no one called back and still can’t get an answer on a bulky item removal! What on earth has happened to the local council who will send the bailiff to remove my goods if I can’t afford the tax but are strangely absent for ALL other services? How much more will people put up with?

Reported a dog waste bin that had not been emptied for at least a fortnight. When I reported it the lady seemed more interested in taking my details, full name, address, phone number etc. than the issue of the bin. Over a week later and the bin has still not been emptied, waste is piling up all around it which is not very pleasant in this hot weather. I tried to call a few times today... last attempt at 09.15 but message says offices are closed... hours of work are 09.00 to 05.00 Monday to Friday. What a joke!!

The online 'MyGloucester' portal which they constantly encourage is a complete travesty & provides nothing apart from take council tax payments - What a surprise ! The phone system is full of excuses about how over-worked, covid, lots of calls, etc & negative advice ! Basically no-one ever available, no-one wants to help or knows/cares how to help & excuses/justifications as to why we dont provide any customer services !

Gloucester City Council are a joke there benefit team are no help what so ever, they don't get back to you when you ring them instead they say send a email and we will get around to it leaving me to pay the arrears which I am struggling to do. For the bulky goods when I rang to ask if they can take some bulky goods away there reply was we can do in two weeks and in the mean time the items stay in the hallway for two weeks.

Twice now in the space of two weeks my recycling bin (on the 4th of July) and now my blue recycling bag have been taken. Both had the number of my house on. No way of contacting GCC.

Paid for bulky item collection which was never picked up. No refund or attempt to rearrange just excuses.

Just thought I would let Gloucester council know that I was checking the links for the NHS track and trace payments for a relative. But NONE of the links work! And I have clicked on the links numerous times on different days and different times with both my phone and my computer. Only receive a page with a girl lying on the floor doing a fake scream and word pop up saying “Oops, that link didn’t work”! How pathetic! As that is the only designated links available. Plus when I phoned the Gloucester council phone number and requested to speak to someone about NHS track and trace, I just went through to an automated voicemail message that referred me back to the website with the links that don’t work! So just going round and round in circles again!

Our paper/cardboard was missed and not collected even though right next to pavement. The whole street did not get the plastics etc collected. Rang the council told we could not log a missed collection before 4pm but they would not come back any way! Short of standing on the pavement and handing it to them I am not sure what more we could do. True to form Gloucester City Council completely unhelpful.
