Lived all over the country and mendip district council is by far the worse I’ve ever experienced.

Had massive issues trying to pay council tax. Constantly putting the funds payed in the wrong place which left us in arrears without our knowledge. Tried paying this 3 times and each time the funds were put on to paying next quarters in advanced instead of the arrears which resulted in threatening letters and late payment fees.

Customer support - what support!!!
This is getting rediculous
30 mins on hold to then be told the phones were mixing calls up and sending to wrong departments so told to ring again later
Rang later and another hour on hold and still no answer then office closed ( I started my call at 4 ) !!!!! How on earth do you get to speak to someone .
Rang again the next day only to have a repeat of the previous day with the phones still being fed to the wrong numbers. I must say though that the poor lady taking these calls did do all that was within her power to help but daddy it was not the right department to be able to solve my very simple query.

Terrible council, it seems that nobody cares about anything and push their responsiblies away to the police, police then confirm that it's their jobs, so at the end, got me nowhere after ringing around for whole day from Yeovil council, Taunton council to Mendip council

1 star far far too good.
Just spent hours - yes really 2.34 to be exact to get to speak to someone (my day off work to do this?) Said person told me I couldn't speak to anyone even though the letter I received gave me a name and number to contact!!!!!also told me it didn't say that on the letter !
I have left a voicemail msg several times with my number to be contacted and guess what - NOTHING.
Dreadful and appalling treatment.

If I could I'd give MDC a minus number of stars, it's far too long a tale to explain here but honestly it's difficult to over exaggerate how terrible this council is, if it was a school they'd be put in Special Measures. The trouble is they just don't seem to care how awful they are, no matter, day in day out the money keeps rolling in from council tax payers whatever the service levels, rather like supporting a football team you can never leave so what's the incentive to get better, none.

This council is an utter disgrace. I’ve lived all over the country and never had to deal with this amount of incompetence.
Threatening letters sent through demanding council tax payment in full even though we’ve never missed a months payment.
Spent over 5 hours trying to talk to someone on the phone only for the line to get cut off.
This is the council that took 4 months, yes 4 months to get the names right on our bill.
Appalling service, if you can call it a service.

I have never come across such a poorly ran council.
I am asked to pay for months that haven’t even occurred yet, for months that I will not be living in the council and have been sent a court appeal after 2 months of moving into the county! I have been in contact with them to discuss these deductions and explain the situation. I have not been sent any official letter except for this appeal, this is the first letter I receive since the welcome to the county letter 2 months ago. THREE MONTHS have I lived in this county and they’re asking me to pay over a thousand pounds up until March 2022? What kind of council do you run here??

My recycling has not been collected for 3 weeks. This morning I am told by a stroppy lad that he had toothache and that he had taken pictures of my recycling 3 weeks ago and sent them to the council to show that I hadn't I hadn't divided it properly. This has not happened before. In the meantime the council told me 'it had all been collected on 26th Nov' and that further to my complaint it would all be sorted within 2 working days'...no mention of improper sorting or photos by the toothache stalker. I am not convinced that the waste pertnership bothers to deal with it properly when they get to it either. They are riculously difficult to deal with and introduce themselves on the phone by their first names......not job title. 'Hello this is Stephanie', well Steph love tis isn't face book answer by saying customer services or whatever job we are paying you to do. Not that there is much customer service in Mendip.
