Milton House Surgery

Simply dreadful service. So difficult even to get through to reception on the telephone. They simply don't answer, time after time after time. The doctors and nurses themselves are good but terribly overstretched, usually making appointments very difficult. But if reception won't even pick up the phone it's impossible even to get the ball rolling. A terrible practice offering zero customer service and zero empathy to people who often just above all require reassurance and advice. A&E inevitably pick up the tab for their abject failure to fulfil their raison d'etre.

This has been my GP surgery for five years and I have always been very impressed. They are under pressure for appointments due to government funding arrangements beyond their control. However I have found their appointment system based on genuine medical priority to be excellent. I have been able to get same day appointment when really needed or a longer term appointment. Care by doctors and nurses has always been excellent and accompanied by great bedside manner and thoughtfullness.

My normal surgery is Boxwell Road but was given an appointment at Milton House. Was seen very promptly by a very professional lady GP who after examination provided a clear and informative explanation of her medical opinion. Very impressed by her manner and the courteous way I was treated.

Terrible. 'You are number 26 in the queue', if you are calling on a quiet day. If you get through it is a lottery as to whether you are put through to Milton House where they staff are polite and do their best, or Boxwell road where they are obstreperous and obstructive. Forget seeing a specific GP for continuity, usually you are told to call back in the morning. Quite shocking.

Milton house surgery have been so co-operative with providing me with medical evidence to help me with a benefits claim. I was so surprised as I had awful issues with Boxwell road before the merge, getting hold of my records and was treated rather poorly despite my disability. During the merge i was also put under a GP i had never seen. Despite this, they refused to put me back under my GP. Under Milton house i am now with my usual GP and feel like i am actually getting the service i expect from a surgery.

I have always found the staff at Milton house extremely polite and helpful. They have ensured my prescriptions and contact with my doctor has always been as quickly as possible. I am very grateful to them and thank them for looking after patients as best as possible throughout the covid crisis.

It would appear their emergency service is either overloaded, insufficiently resourced or even inefficient. When ringing with a possible urgent problem I was told to ring back in an hour - whereas I would have been quite happy to be told to visit the surgery in an hour and wait for any amount of time, I don't understand the need for prevaricating and having to repeat the telephone wait and description of problem again...

I came here with what they concluded was an infection on my toe, they gave me a 2 week treatment of antibiotics to deal with it.

After 3 weeks I went back as it hadn't healed, the new GP said of course it hasn't healed because the antibiotics weren't strong enough and the treatment wasn't long enough, so they gave me 3 weeks of antibiotics.

It still hadn't healed so I went private, they concluded it was a verruca and removed it on the spot.

Absolutely ridiculous doctors, they have no idea what they're talking about and just want you out of there. They'll throw antibiotics and meds at you without any proper assessment.

Horrendous, would not trust my children with these jokers.
