My daughter who is 3.5 had croup and it was really bad and affecting her badly. The Dr just smiled and said it’ll go. I got a second opinion and was told to give her a single dose of steroid drops after which she completely recovered and wasn’t scared anymore.
The final straw came when I again came in with my daughter (several months later) as she had a cold that was really getting noticeably worse and again they just did their smile and said it’s all good.
I can bet that if you went in dying they’d say you were fine.
The only thing I will miss from the surgery is the nurse she is fantastic!!
Best Doctor's around by far.
Doctor Petel has really looked after me for many years now and can't fault him.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
about the patients?
Facts:
I am been experiencing pain and discomfort for few days, last night it was worse than usual, at the point I could barely sleep.
This morning at 7.59 I called in to arrange an emergency visit, in years that I have been in this practice I have never done this request before. The receptionist has arranged that for me saying the doctor will call you in the morning to book an appointment. I took a day off from work in order to be able to do this.
I had all the time the phone with me, at 9.14 the phone rings I was in the garden, the phone on the kitchen's table as I don't have signal outside, I run inside to take the call, by the time I answered the caller hung up, the caller was the doctor, I immediately called back and spoke with the receptionist to whom I have explained what happened and the answer was" when the doctor calls you have to have the phone in your hands all the time" I took the day off to do this, do you really believe I dont care??!!! I asked is the doctor calling me back again? answer" I dont know I can only inform the doctor that you called" is this really the new NHS policy you have once chance to answer the phone call?!
I believe compassion and understanding are essential when dealing with someone who is unwell and scared, the receptionist lacked in both.
