I called with a simple question and all of this is new to me, I did say that on the phone. Despite being polite and friendly, I was made to feel like I was asking a stupid question but I was just doing what was advised on NHS. Either way, no question is stupid.
I work in customer service; i wouldn't speak like that. These places need to make sure that the receptionists recognise their tone and the importance of their attitude. Being the first port of call to a doctors surgery, it's pretty important. You will handle people who are very vulnerable, anxious etc
I was number one in the queue so I can't think why their attitude was so hot.. Hopefully next time it will be better
Their systems work. They get letters from specialist and hospitals and make referrals on time that actually arrive. They allow you to book online without spending hours on the phone just to find a rude person on the other side who tells you to call back next week. They approve your repeat prescriptions without any problems. They don’t patronise you and in the short 10 minutes they have for your appointment they actually listen to you. If needed, they even give you their email address to communicate or send documents, which make your experience efficient and easy especially when admin stuff is concerned or something got lost. On average you feel that there is some communication with the doctors or nurses and you can even choose your preferred GP.
Whoever gave less than 4 stars has never been with other GP practices. Try and have a look around just a couple of miles down the road, in Eltham, and you’ll see.
Doctors are good and understanding.
