one simple thing they just need to be polite a bit and patience.
This morning I called for my baby and was asking for a early appointment I understand there’s no appointment but only thing She could do to tell me in a polite way. She was like this is the only appointment take it or go. I mean Am I buying something? This is my right as a citizen to get NHS appointment and to expect a better behaviour.
This is utterly wrong. Just because they are NHS staff they have no rights to behave rude with any one.

Very rude reception, no empathy or Willingness to listen. I been trying to get a callback from last 3 weeks, but everytime reception picking up the phone and cutting the line on the face. I even went to GP to enquire about it, but asking to the callback in the morning which Never gets connected.

Clearly feels like taking and excuse from COVID situation

I wish if I could give negative stars, for much a unprofessional behaviour.

You get the impression that the receptionists just can't be bothered. You ring, no one answers, you show up they tell you to ring, you ring again they tell you there's no appointments, and to try calling in the morning for an appointment the same day, except for Saturday. I guess as a person who works weekdays I'm stuffed then?

I just don't get it!! Look at the ratings it's 2.4 stars and they have no interest of improving the service. Patients get frustrated which then means the staff are frustrated and everyone's just battling with each other. Clearly derwent valley medical aren't interested if you get an appointment or not, as soon as you ring if you're lucky enough to get through you'll be met with hostility!! Even the option to cancel an appointment is offered before booking one when calling because they just don't want people to go. There's a covid procedure ongoing like it's 2020 just so they have an excuse for poor service, which just feels silly and has nothing to do with safety as its just a box of masks. It's got to be someone's fault and I'm going with reception and doctors, probably not happy with their pay I could imagine.

Someone needs oversight of this practise and to change things positively, I understand people have a job to do but the receptionist didn’t show any effort or care. Been trying for ages to book a appointment so I can get seen and to no joy. Try phoning up, you’ll understand what I mean.

Very well organised we waited for a few minutes before being called the flu jab was dealt with quickly and painlessly.
While I was there she booked anti COVID for me.
Totally professional.

It seems like GPS are here to come to work mark their attendance and get the hell of lot money government is paying them and don’t give a thing about patients and go home. Worse thing is person who answers phone always ready to say why the hell are you calling today? please don’t call here go and do self medication.

This surgery is absolutely diabolical. Receptionist is the worst I have dealt with. Had an ongoing issue for nearly 4 years and always been able to book in with the doctor BUT suddenly no longer an emergency. (Original post, years ago.)

Pray that you never have to wait for a dermatologist or a back specialist. These will have you in an early grave (I am officially still waiting.) Edited today 03/01/2023
