There are sometimes long wait times for calls, but the receptionists are pretty efficient and are very helpful, it just that Brackla had exploded without the provision of any new facilities for GP services, blame the council for their lack of planning and for that problem.

The GP does a telephone consultation and can sometimes write your prescription for collection or the may ask you to come in for an appointment.

They are very busy but I have never had the sense of being hurried, and because of the new telephone consultation system there are no long queues in the surgery waiting room.

Its gradually getting impossible to get any help, about 3 weeks for a call back? I will probably be in work when I get the call back, discussing personal issues at work!

Update, I waited all day for the call back which never happened?
This is not a free service, most working people have paid into this system all their working lives and now just getting messed about. On the phone again the hours are totting up.

Wonderful care and compassion right from speaking to the receptionist on the phone through to the nurses and doctor I saw when I was really not well. They did absolutely everything to make me feel better. Have also arranged follow ups easily and found the E-consult service really helpful given I work full time. Overall found the service and care exceptional given the stresses the NHS is under and hope the staff are aware of how much of a difference their kindness makes to their patients.

You really need to make it easier for temporary patients to obtain prescription slips for their medication.

What should be a straightforward process seems to be dealt with in a different way everytime and always involves being passed from pillar to post (particularly painful given how long it takes to actually get through to someone).

It's so unnecessarily stressful - please sort it out.

Always professional and helpful. I know that obtaining appointments can be difficult but they try their best to accommodate their patients. Thank you everyone for your efforts.

were working with less staff through the Covid outbreak under the threat of contracting the disease themselves with the risk of taking it home to their own families.
Receptionists and the Doctors were so much aware as they still are of those in serious pain and suffering as they deal with this every day. I am writing this because I have seen what they have been coping with and the voice of patience they have shown on the phone is everything.
The surgery has managed a system now to overcome these difficulties for those who use the computers easing appointments for the rest of us. There is advice on screen on their website for: Oaktree Surgery Bridgend and on TV monitors on the wall in the Oaktree surgery informing us that we can e mail the surgery with a condition and they will respond and no-one will be refused an appointment with help and support. Pharmacists can advise on the less serious conditions and we can also be helped with their highly trained nursing staff, freeing up the doctors for time with more difficult problems and illness. This is great progress. Thank you

I have always had excellent treatment with the surgery, including face to face appointments..

From my experience. Yes it is hard to get though in the morning as everyone is ringing in the morning. If your ill and you must see a doctor urgently. Then there is always the option to sit and wait. I was happy to do this as I was very unwell. They do a really good job and I think they are amazing. The practice covers a very big area. Big thank you to all the doctors and staff.
