The worst doctor's clinic I have ever experienced. Can never get onto the surgery. Phone never rings and when you finally do after 6 hours of trying to call they turn you away and say to try again tomorrow, usually hanging up before you get the chance to explain you’ve been calling 300 times a day for the last week. Hands down the worst. I understand the surgery is under a lot of pressure but a proper phone system would make a difference.
Once in a blue moon you may be lucky enough to receive an appointment.. then the doctors and nurses are lovely. However this is unlikely.

Beechwood surgery is absolutely abysmal! I just spent 1 hour and 15 minutes on hold for nothing. I was still sitting on hold for reception. A few days ago when I called I phoned over 200 times to get through.
This isn't how booking a gp appointment is supposed to be! If you can avoid Beechwood surgery I would. The doctors etc are competent but you can't get an appointment to save your life. Better off somewhere else.

Would give lower if it was possible, it’s impossible to see a Dr here or get through on the phones. They will not make appointments over the counter either, having gone down there after spending ages trying to get through on the phone. Told to call again tomorrow at 10.30 as all the appointments are gone for today. Phone systems need updating at present you just get cut off when the line is busy. Appalling in this day and age.

Phoned for urgent appointment for my son this morning and as with all GP surgery's took a while to speak to somebody but this is to be expected with the demand on NHS services currently. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and empathetic to my sons illness. Attended the surgery for the appointment today and once again all staff were friendly and efficient. Great service can't fault it.

Very greatful to Dr W Jones and the receptionist I believe her name was possably Abbi she works late shift on Friday 13th August, such a kind and approachable young lady. Dr stayed late to sort out my mams medication as she forgot to order it and remembered at 6pm.
I just want to say a massive thanks to both of you.

This surgery makes it very difficult to get an appointment to see a GP. Their entire procedure is designed to persuade you not to see anyone. They have limited set times to book appointments. You could be waiting in a queue on the phone for an whole hour trying to make an appointment, only to find yourself cut-off at the last moment. Then you have to phone the next day because your phone time limit for that day has expired. The staff work hard but much of the time are not truly helpful as they're curtailed with dogmatic bureaucracy of the surgery.

The receptionist on the phone was so helpful, she organised starting my repeat prescription without my having to go there. Excellent service and thank you.

Worst GP surgery I have ever dealt with. On two occasions, I have been on hold for the better part of an hour only to have someone answer the phone and then pretend they can't hear me and then hang up the call! Can't get appointments for weeks, yet they make you book an appointment with a doctor in order to get a referral even when the doctor knows that all you need is a referral. People say the NHS is strapped for cash but actually caring and providing a logical service that does not waste the time of the GP and the patient surely cannot be a wise use of resources. There are also long periods where the phone is just engaged and the reception staff are sitting doing nothing. I would go elsewhere but from what I understand, GPs throughout Newport are all just the same, poor service all round.
