I used the Wash and Fold service for four pounds of laundry. It was ready in two days. The staff are friendly but I get the feeling things are mostly run by one individual, who seems to handle most customer questions and complaints. For example there was some confusion when I called to see what time I could pick up my laundry - it took several employees to find my order and give me a pickup time. Then when I arrived the guy who seems to be in charge had to go off-site to get my clothes and bring them back to the shop. Luckily there is a chair you can sit in while you wait - it took about 10 minutes.
The clothes were clean and smelled good but one pair of underwear had an inch-wide hole torn in the back. They were an older pair so it's possible the material was wearing thin and tore when it caught on something in the washer. Some other clothes were wrinkled, which in my experience means after drying there was a delay of 30+ minutes before they were folded.
The price was high - £25, which may simply reflect the increased cost of energy right now. Despite the front signage there is not free pickup and delivery for laundry - perhaps it applies to other services such as tailoring.
Overall like I said they are friendly but I do think they could be better organised and a little more careful in handling the clothing. I probably will not return to do laundry there because of the cost and instead go to a self-service launderette nearby. I would consider using this business again if I needed something tailored or dry cleaned. To avoid confusion I would make sure I took a picture of the item and the store order label to make it easier to find on pickup.

The best dry cleaners in north London. Wonderful service and lovely staff. I’ve lived in north London for 15 years and have always had an excellent experience with this company. Ignore the bad reviews - they’re most likely from other dry cleaners in the area, all of which are no way near as good as this one. I’ve used this company for 15 years, for expensive outfits, delicates, repairs, you name it, they’ve always done a fabulous and prompt job. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Terrible customer service experience. Went to drop off some items (2 canvas material bags) to clean and the lady was really rude to me and told me that it couldn’t be done. The other clerk was nice to me and told the lady to wait a minute, that he was going to assess whether the cleaning could be done. The lady kept yelling at him “why are you doing this? Why are you opening the bag?” in front of me, the customer. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable situation. I went to the American Dry Cleaners next door - they took my items and it was a completely different experience!

My top had a cigarette burn hole. I was quoted 8 pounds. But the job was so pathetic and visible that I had to take it to masters cleaners on the haverstoclkhill and the gentleman there had to redo it andl i I ended up paying for it 5 pounds more. Perkins were a huge disappointment in the terms of that I said its a bad job done but they insisted that's the best that could be done.

BAD REVIEWS TRUE, Mr Perkins RUDEST man I have met with terrible customer service, would give it zero stars if I could. RUiNED 3 items and then told me I was lying, holes in my Max Mara coat, ink dye in my dress and ruined the colour of my blazer. Threatened me also and didn’t offer a refund. Worst service and will definitely proceed with trying to get compensation. Avoid at all costs.

I dropped off a pair of Hobbs boots here to have exterior soles attached. The service at Perkins is very good and they have done an excellent job which stood up well to being worn in London winter. My only drawback is that I wasn’t informed when they’d be ready, and did have to call to find out if enough time had elapsed for me to collect. Will happily return!

I’ve used the dry cleaning service, alterations and had my shoes’ soles replaced. The chap that runs the place is always friendly and has never exhibited the behaviours described in some of the polarising reviews below. The tailor is also reasonably priced and does good, reliable work.

Great dry cleaning service. But human service can be improved. Can be quite rude
