Same as the person below, applying for a visa as a UK citizen from my local embassy (these incompetent bunch in London) and it was rejected as I'm currently on holiday in Malaysia.

The visa application process doesn't mention having to show proof of a flight out of your home country, so they're basically swindling you out of money by getting you to apply for a visa, then suddenly requiring more information in an email.

Apparently I have to apply for a visa from Malaysia even though I'm not a Malaysian citizen - a ridiculous set up and they should be looked into, I'll be looking at ways to get this looked into as they're currently a con.

Also, no refund...

An absolute joke from start to finish. Useless conflicting information. Their website doesn't correlate with the information they give over the phone. They seem to make up the rules as they go along.

Feb 2022 I applied for a 90 day Thailand tourist visa whilst I was visiting Holland. The visa was approved without any problems.

I have recently (Aug 2022) tried to apply for the same 90 day visa whilst visiting Italy.

They emailed back to say the visa was refused because I am applying from a foreign country.

Spent a while in a phone queue and an employee eventually answered.

Their only feeble explanation was "the previous occasion was a mistake" and "if I tried to apply from a different country again I would be black listed".

Very hostile and strange. I would certainly not recommend this service and warn anybody else that these problems may occur.

Absolutely useless. I’ve tried calling about an urgent visa matter but cannot get through! I’ve tried calling for 2 days without any luck. I have been on hold for approximately 5 hours today and no one will answer the phone!

Unbelievable, online visa application is awful, needed advice so I rang the office to who my application will be processed by the London Thai embassy. What an awful service , opening times are a joke, closed uk bank holidays and thai bank holidays, closed at the weekends, closed 12-2pm for lunch !!
Tried ringing many times eventually someone answered saying no ring another number only after 2pm ! Rang that number and it rings until someone answers and clears the call down it’s a bloody disgrace. I will never attempt to travel to Thailand again, I will spend my money elsewhere because you don’t deserve it !

Decided to book our honeymoon in thailand. I was travelling with a uk travel document so i checked the website for any visa requirements. Nope didnt need one. Walked into the airport and yesss travel document users need to apply for a visa.staff at the airport could only say sorry and a fault with translation on the website as they call passports “travel document”. Not to forget i called the embassy on three different dates to get reliable information but on all occasions i had to wait more than an hour and got staff hanging up. Very unprofessional and waste of money. They want you to book your flights, hotel then apply for a visa which could easily get rejected.

I was there many many years ago to apply for Tourists visa because they didn't have online system. I have never met more rude and incompetent Embassy Staff than in Thai Embassy. They obviously denied me, Since then I have not tried to apply for Visa. I thought one time was enough. Also Thai Government should only send competent people to work in Embassy as they are first representative of their country.

Just like in Thailand.
Absolutely nonsense questions on their forms, requiring both parents ID number for a new Thai Passport???

No queue management even though you need to book online the place is full and you need to take a ticket on entry.

Rubbish service rubbish procedures
