I am very grateful to the staff at the Mozambique High Commission in London. Knowing that I had a funeral and could not return the next day the staff were able to issue a 24 hour visa in just 6 hours. I was treated with kindness snd courtesy. Thank you so much

Worse experience ever they don’t attend telephone or answer emails . I sat for two days straight from 10-1pm just redialling getting them to answer in first in queue then they disconnect you . DONT PAY for a fast track visa they lie I applied on 4/7 fast track 4 days n it’s not 4/8 . They make you book flights prior to visa . I know my visa was issued on 22/7 yet they still have not posted my passports back at least I fly 9/8 . To visit my critically ill grandma the people working at the embassy lack basic manners or professionalism . Don’t bother trying to visit they have caused great emotional and mental distress and made me ill and never mind the financial loss I have incurred !!! I would give 0 stars if I could .

In all honesty they offer no help for Mozambican citizens over seas. I myself have called them today 5 times. I have been on hold 5 times and hang up on 5 times. My mother managed to get a hold which she was rushed and dealt with in a manner I find completely disrespectful. They don’t seem to offer no representation or help. I personally have emailed the Minster of Foreign affairs and will personally be contacting them in Mozambique Av. 10 de Novembro, Maputo, Mozambique in order to make a personal formal complaint and lack of help.

Very difficult to get through via phone call and email. Misinformation on their website. You get cut off on a phone call when waiting in a queue. unbelievably poor service and no reply on email even after 4 attempts! If you are waiting for a basic visa apply 1 year in advance you might just get it in time!

The lady at the desk in the consulate was very friendly and so helpfull. She only took 5-10 min with each client and i had my work visa in 1 hour. well done.

Unbelievably bad. I’d handed my passport over for the 30 day visa service and 5 weeks later discovered it had just sat in the pile, effectively lost. Went in, even though I’d paid for it to be posted back, and was glad I did. Called and no one ever answered even after I’d got through to be on hold, and no one answered the emails I sent. When I chased it the two women behind the counter couldn’t care less. I effectively had to do a sit in and say I wasn’t moving till I got it back with the visa…took a further 2 hours for someone to sign it off. Mistakes happen, I get it, but it was the fact absolutely no one cared and just thought I was a massive nuisance even though I deliberately kept calm even though I was raging inside. Oh and all that still cost me £100. I mean it’s not like I’ll ever be here again but just to warn anyone else who might be in the same boat - probably worth stumping for the express service to give you more of a fighting chance to get it back on time but even then don’t count on it.

Vanessa gets all those stars.
She was amazing and explained that the visa process is now no longer four days but can take up to 30 days.
sadly can’t give 5 stars as the new immigration processes that the consular is not in control of are slowing things down majorly.

update: visas received after returning from mozambique. they would not refund us, even though we contacted them on day of leaving for trip as no visas had arrived. luckily we did not fly into maputo and were given visas on arrival, but unluckily we wasted £180!
you can get ur visa on the border but if u are refused, you’ll be turning back….so not sure about taking that risk.

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had for a service I've paid for. I've had better service from SCAMS than this (and they cost me less).

Followed their guidance applying for a tourist visa, paid extra for "urgent" service, couriered passports to them, and... Nothing.

Not a single email reply after weeks of emailing them, not a single answered phone call after days of sitting on hold, getting a family member to visit in person yielded a "we don't have the passport, we're sure we sent it back but don't have any proof, sorry".

In the end we were forced to report our passports lost and pay for emergency replacements before travelling. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND YOUR PASSPORT OR MONEY HERE, YOU WILL NOT SEE THEM AGAIN. Instead, avail of visa on arrival in Mozambique (it's cheaper, you're not going to be left without a passport, and you won't be at risk of not being able to fly in the first place).

If you don't believe me, go and look at all the other horrific reviews here.
