Very tasty food and a decent selection of beers. The Spread Eagle is situated on the outskirts of Liss and caters for families of all ages. There's a decent sized childrens play area outside, although it's starting to look a little tired, and the inside is well furnished and decorated in a traditional country pub style (advisory note: some plug points need to be looked at as one or two appeared to be loose and need refixing). We visited on a weekday lunchtime and the food was excellent. A well priced sharing platter and a battered fish sandwich (à la filet-o-fish) were ordered and they were served quickly and perfectly prepared (see images). There are daily Specials too and the dessert options, which we didn't have on this occasion, are usually worth considering. A highly recommended pub and well worth checking out if you're in the area.

This place was recommended by a friendly neighbour whilst on holiday in Liss, so glad they did. Was def worth the trek!
- staff were nice enough, our table was shown to be reserved in advance.
- sunday roast was best ever had, great portion size and extra side dishes of creamy broccoli.
- outdoor space was lovely, even had kids playground, however a tad messy, lots of bottles not cleared.
- toilets were clean, but cubicles are very dark, only one had a window for light.

Otherwise lovely country experience!

Final verdict:
☆ Staff service: 4/5
☆ Food: 5/5
☆ Hygiene: 3/5
☆ Ambience: 5/5
☆ Price: £££

We popped into this pub on the way to the ferry and on the way back after our holiday. What a fab pub dinner! The decor may need updating a little but I couldn't fault the food or the service. It was really super and I wouldn't hesitate to go in again when we're next that way.

What a pleasant surprise I had when visiting a friend for lunch. We traveled to the UK from Bermuda to bring our daughter to Uni and met up with our friend from this area. This is the pub he chose for lunch and it was worth the drive!! My husband and I loved our meal very much. Thanks to our friend David for introducing us to such a fine place and I can honestly say that should I come back, this spot (as well as visiting David) will be on my list! Compliments to the chef!!

Cosy, traditional pub with a small, basic menu focused on sandwiches. The tomato soup was a little like marinara sauce. Great beer though!

Great pub lunch with excellent staff that we reassuringly strict with Covid guidelines. Excellent choice of gluten free main meals and the burgers were fantastic! Mixture of covered and open outdoor tables and a play area for the kids 👍

This was a break in our journey, we arrived, were served quickly and in a friendly manner, and left feeling sorry we couldn't have stayed longer. The atmosphere was so cozy it was a wrench to continue our journey...
