Phoenix Chudleigh

I visited the Phoenix in Chudleigh on Wednesday 16 October 2019 in the early evening, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place.

I parked in the street right outside the restaurant - parking was easy.

The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized pub style main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service.

The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I enjoyed a baked camembert sharer for my starter and a delicious chicken burger with added cheese and bacon with a side of onion rings for my main course. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid around £25 for two courses and drinks.

Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again.

My wife and i ate at the Phoenix on Sunday 2nd October. As a coeliac of 11 years, i was able to order and thoroughly enjoy a Gluten Free Yorkshire Pudding and Gluten Free stuffing. Excellent food and great service. My compliments to the chef. Bob.

Really tasty food. We came on recommendations by friends and weren't disappointed. Personally I'm not a fan of the laminated menus they had because it always just makes me think the establishment is a bit basic, but I'm guessing it's for hygiene reasons after the pandemic? Also there's no parking so you have to park on the street but Chudleigh's pretty small so it's not far to walk. But I'd recommend it!

Good bits - food was lovely- meat was cooked well, veg was fresh and cooked perfectly. Banana cake was really nice.
Welcomed and taken to our table straight away.

Not as good point- Service was very slow, not at first but once we had finished our mains I had to get to and find staff to order dessert we where then left for over 15 mins before they came and took the order and then again once we had go send was over 25 mins till I have up and just went the bar to pay the bill.

Absolutely brilliant! Can't explain how great it was!

Our first visit to Phoenix Chudleigh, will definitely be going again very soon. Friendly and efficient staff , and the food was truly delicious , thank you for a lovely evening .

Managed to squeeze us in for some breakfast even though we didn't have a reservation. Food and service were both brilliant.

Excellent food, portion sizes perfect. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend you dine here
