I attended the A & E at this Hospital today. My left eye was inflamed, swollen and painful.
I just cannot praise this Department and the Staff highly enough.
Their professionalism was outstanding and the running of the Department is superb.
Everyone should feel very proud, especially the cleaners, because the whole area was clean and felt hygienic and bright.
I was reassured and prescribed eye drops which have already made my eye more comfortable.
Thank you so much for your hard work.

Received excellent service beyond all expectations at A&E to rule out a retinal tear. All of the staff, from the admissions staff to the specialists, were very professional and gave excellent advice. I was treated with kindness and respect throughout the entire process. The specialist were very thorough with their examinations to ensure their diagnosis was correct -- no tear. Extremely confident with the outcome.

Although I would not wish to anyone to experience eye problems, the experience I had today at the Moorfields Eye Hospital is by far the best experience I have ever had with NHS. Yes, I had to spent 4 hours at A&E (mostly waiting to be called) and I would have largely preferred the pharmacy to be open, but still the attention and level of care I received exceeded all my expectations. A big thank you to all the people working at the A&E department! I have been experiencing very alarming eye pains since a week and, having been unable to book an appointment with my GP, decided to take an afternoon off and come to the hospital. I am all reassured now with all the necessary exams having been conducted and I look forward to starting the treatment prescribed. I would give 6 stars if I could!

I have just returned home from an A&E assessment here following what my optician picked up during a routine annual appointment.
From reception ,to triage and full examination and scans everyone went above and beyond.
They were so thorough, explained everything and took time with me to reassure me.
The hygiene levels were very high, everything was disinfected before use.
Special thanks to ‘Grace’ and the consultant she called in to double check things.. but I’m sorry I can’t recall everyone’s names as they were all fantastic and all deserve a mention. A real credit to the NHS. Many thanks.

Very friendly and hard working staff, from door to doctors. Thank you for assurance and support. I came very stressed but felt at ease here. Wait is like everywhere, it took me around 4hrs to be seen by a doctor.

The doctors and nurses themselves were fantastic, excellent rapport with patients, reassuring and thorough. One of the porters however was absolutely disgraceful, ignorant, arrogant, rude and racist (we are a white British family). Considering it is a CHILDREN'S EYE hospital, when approached on a narrow pathway by said porter who was leading an elderly patient on a walking frame from a neighbouring hospital (I was supporting my blind sister who has a CANE along with her autistic son who has vision difficulties) we were told rudely that we didn't matter, we were nothing and to get out the *expletive* way, despite I was communicating with my both my sister and nephew to stand to the side to allow the gentleman through, this man's attitude was unbelievable, unnecessary and unprovoked.heaven help anyone under their Care, total safeguarding concern. We also got dirty looks, disgusting attitude. Should be sacked immediately.

I visited A and e yesterday shortly after a major power cut. All the staff were working hard to get all patients seen along with great courtesy and care. Having arrived at 115 I was seen by a doctor in 20 minutes. Quite amazing. There efficiency is match by their caring attitude and medical expertise. We are lucky to have them.

Me and my partner attended the A&E hospital tonight at 10:30pm after a full day of travelling to check for a sharp pain in my eye which has been reoccurring for 2 months and in the past couple of days has become unbearable. 2 years ago I had a cornea scratch injury in the same eye so when the pain became constant we went for urgent care as I have been treated there before. We were greeted with an empty waiting room so happily thought we would be seen relatively quickly. However we were greeted with a member of staff leant over the reception having a chat with her colleagues and when we walked in engaged with us with the same relaxed and rude demeanour, clearly not wanting to deal with us. She went on to tell us that because there was no visible irritation and that I didn’t look in serious pain I could not be seen or even talk to a doctor. After explaining I had symptoms of my previous cornea injury she began to argue and deflect my symptoms, blaming it on travelling and the air change etc - persistent no one could see me. After I insisted I had been seen here before for similar symptoms she defiantly said she would get a doctor. The doctor arrived with her and they both said I needed to book an appointment for another day as only people who have been “stabbed in the eye” are seen here and he clearly had no desire to speak with me. It felt like they wanted us out of there as quickly as possible despite them having no one else to see to or my need for care at that time. After contacting my GP and being told to be checked at the eye hospital, this was not the experience I was expecting. Especially after having such a positive experience previously. Very disappointed. My partner and I had been travelling all day, we were tired with many bags and dressed in relaxed clothing, we have never been treated in that way. We feel very disheartened to say that they possibly treated us this way due to our appearance and laziness on their behalf.
