My wife and I had our eyes tested here, but we purchased our glasses from specsavers only to find boots had messed up my wife's precription , when we approached boots to rectify this they said it would have to be specsavers who needed to rectify the problem even though boots had messed it up in the first place, will never use them again, specsavers however were excellent and changed my wife's 2 pairs of glasses at no cother to us.

The optometrist is very professional and was able to detect retinal detachment during a routine eye test last summer. I was promptly referred to the hospital and had a major eye surgery. Recently, I went back to get a new prescription which took quite long as it is complicated by the drastic change of my eye. The optometrists were very patient and reassuring. The staff also went above and beyond to phone the previous branch I used to transfer my details after I got relocated to Durham a couple of years ago.

The staff where friendly and greeted me when I arrived. There was hand wash and everyone was wearing masks whilst working behind screens to keep eachother and myself safe. The examination was quick, easy, and thorough with the results explained to me so that I understood what was going on with my eyes. Large range of frames available as well at reasonable prices.

Big thank you to Andrew for helping me source some contact lenses. He went above and beyond getting a colleague to seek some in the Alnwick area and even offered to post them out to make it easier for me.
I wish all customer services were this responsive and helpful.
Well done Andrew!

My son damaged his eye socket playing rugby and was still hurting days later.

Called a few high street opticians who couldn't fit us in. Called Boots who got us in the same day despite their website showing no availability.

The treatment was 5 star.

Yes...the clinical aspect was top notch, but the service and the way we were treated was what made this visit great. We weren't there to buy anything and were treat like royalty.

We're a family of 5 and will all be heading to Boots in future for our check ups and glasses.

I gave a 5 star review last year. I had an eye test on 12 April. Their prices are now really, really, exorbitant, so I decided to go elsewhere. My new prescription is totally unreadable, so I tried to contact them to get my true prescription confirmed. They NEVER answer the telephone, really, four days of calling, not one pick up. I rang BOOTS CUSTOMER SERVICES who were also unable to get them to answer the phone. Just go somewhere else, I now have no new prescription and will need to pay for another eye test with a new optician. They and Boots do not consider customer service to be a priority and the optician I saw Kevin Boyle needs to learn how to write legibly! Update, I complained, despite promising to do so, nobody ever got back to me, so it is a waste of time complaining about their terrible customer's service. You have been warned. Don't use Boots Opticians in Durham.
