Great Oak Beefeater

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to have lunch at this lovely place. Our waiter George was simply wonderful. He showed us the best spot in the restaurant area, provided the allergies information and checked that my choices from the menu were acceptable for my needs. I had a mouthwatering salmon salad and a delicious vegan ice-cream and fruit sorbet for dessert. At the end we were given a Happy anniversary card with a small box of chocolates. All in all a very nice experience and I highly recommend this place to anybody reading this comment.

Not bad. We go there on Birthdays etc for a Family meal and I usually get fish, chips and mushy peas, which is very good. The only slight criticism is that the fish was smaller than it used to be, but still a fair size and cooked to perfection. A bit pricy, but everything is lately.

"Unlimited Breakfast" at Beefeater is not that UNLIMITED at all!

So they take your money at 10.19AM for the breakfast. You are seated and wait for someone to take your order for like 15 min, even thought there's only 3 other tables sitted. Your breakfast arrives at approximately 10.50AM and you start eating.

Meanwhile the staff are shutting of the coffee machine and taking away everything from the "Continental island" leaving you suprised as what's happening and not a chance to grabb another glass of apple juice or anything else as it's past 10.30AM and breakfast is DONE with no consideration to the remained paying customers.

That's not the way to do it!

Awful experience and I rather take my money where they're treating the customers like it should!

Thoroughly underwhelming experience at the weekend.
Our meals arrived only just warm, this was because they were sat waiting for us to finish our starter. A starter which had been forgotten, and never arrived.

Food was ok quality, however, without the discount voucher, it would have bee poor value for money.
We weren’t asked if we would like any additional drinks, even though one was a “unlimited refill”

Although the staff were friendly, there’s clearly some training issues that need addressing.

Nice restaurant, very convenient by the motorway. The staff is very helpful and polite, the food was very nice. We are both vegans and it was so nice to see that they have a full page of vegetarian and vegan food for us.

We were there for 2 nights, first breakfast was fine and well managed but our second breakfast was just awful for both the customers and staff (only 2 ladies having to deal with the whole restaurant including taking and delivering ALL hot breakfasts). I sincerely hope these ladies were rewarded for their hard work. Still people were waiting up to 40 minutes for orders. I hope they get their staffing problem sorted out.

Been here a couple of times and we both had great meals. Lovely place just outside Petersfield. The staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Xmas day dinner, we had the 3pm sitting, sat down about 10 mins late but hey, no problem there especially as you could see the staff working their socks off.
Meals arrived, very enjoyable, staff remained pleasant, courteous and helpful all afternoon.
Will definitely be happy to book again.
