I stayed here for the half-term week and I want to give an honest review of someone who doesn't normally write reviews. Yes you can hear the trains and yes the showers could be better but this caravan park is superb, it is an ideal location for the forest. It has a nice atmosphere. Do not be put off by some of the negative comments, this truly is a beautiful caravan site in a beautiful area.

My partner and I and our 3 year old spent 3 nights here (Rushcroft cottage) in late April. A great 3 nights it was too. The cottage was very clean and tidy and wonderfully spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped; perfect for a short or extended break. Located on the outskirts of Sway the cottage is within walking distance of a local convenience store and couple of pubs. We particularly enjoyed the Hear and Hounds. There is also a train station within walking distance - perfect for a car free holiday. All in all a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Thanks Lynn

Lovely campsite but no recycling facilities. Nothing to dry your hands on when you have been to the toilet. Shop on site only opened from 9- 9.30. The man on site was very friendly would be perfect with a few more facilities.

Wonderfully peaceful place with the New Forest just a short walk and the beaches and Bournemouth for shopping a 15 min drive. Lovely crisp bed linen, spacious, comfy and smart cottage with friendly owners. And donkeys and goats!

This was a lovely, quiet, and beautiful place to stay! The owners were friendly and checked in on us and the house was clean and well cared for. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

You really cannot complain. Only met Mark but he was more than useful! He suggested a lovely pub which we’ve been to (Hare and Hounds) beautiful site and amazing pitches. Toilets far above standard and incredibly clean. Absolutely no reason why we won’t be coming back! Thank you so much Mark and Lynn!

Nice little campsite in a good location.
Toilets and showers were very clean and nice to use, nice showers where you could alter the temperature.
Site was very peaceful (at times)
The owner Mark was very pleasant and nice to talk too.
Now the not so good
Access road to the site is shocking very very narrow with branches and brambles sticking out, unfortunately we scratched the windows on our motorhome which has really made me very cross, personally i dont think the access road is suitable for motorhomes larger than 6m long.
I did tell the owner but unfortunately nothing was done and we were forced to drive back through it on the way out.
Pitches do have a slope and you will need levelling equipment in a motorhome and it had rained a lot and some pitches were very soft and spongy.
The worst thing for us was the trains they were relentless still running upto 11.45pm and again at 5.30am and they are loud.
My view is 3.5 stars but cant leave that so had to leave a 4 star as 3 would be too harsh
Edit
Thank you for your reply, yes you were very helpfull in moving us due to the poor weather although my motorhome is not particularly large its only 7mts long, i understand your comments about the trains and yes i agree they are convenient for some campers, the drive however sorry i dont agree it has not been maintained to a level it should be at, I damaged my motorhome on over hanging branches that have scratched the side and one window, these should have been dealt with weeks and weeks ago and this would not have happened then. Its no good doing just the lower parts its higher up where the problems are.
I wish you continued success in the future once you have addressed this minor issue.

It is very quiet and well kept. Lovely views with a pretty river running at the bottom. Surrounded by trees and lush grassThe shower and toilet facilities are clean. The only thing I would add is that there are a few steps to get into them so be aware if you are disabled. There are however portaloo shower.
Mark the host has some pretty old style gypsy caravans ( not to rent out) that somehow add the beauty of it all. Love the goats ❤️
As well as being open to Motorhomes, caravans and tents there are two cottages to rent.
Numbers are kept down so lovely and peaceful
In the heart of New Forest and Close by beaches. Well worth the stay.
Lots of places to eat. I chose the Hare and Hounds.
