Golden Cod

Just spent over £20 pounds large kebab was supposed to be large it was one of the smallest I've ever seen. The chips weren't cooked properly I definitely won't be coming here again I'll stick to Ocean blue in future where you get decent portion sizes and it tastes a amazing.

What a difference to my wonderful visit 2 years ago. Have been on and off over the 2 years but had a few months off and decided to go yesterday. What a huge disappointment. Bought two large chips and only just had enough for 3 adults and 1 child. The chips tasted very dry and could have been cooked longer. Two of the party had kebab meat which was very dry and squished together, perhaps either left from a previous order (as they were only just warm) or reheated from lunch. The portion was very small that even a 10 year old with a sparrows appetite was still hungry after. When you spend nearly £30 on fish and chips you at least expect the quality. I understand prices have gone up but the portions and quality should remain the same. Not sure what has happened over the last few months as Golden Cod, maybe a change in management. Sadly we won't be returning.

Very best chip shop around in Sutton the chips with red hots the chips were red art and the pies were beautiful parts were beautiful and I would recommend this to anybody who wants to have a nice chippy and they have got good meal deals and the place is very clean and tidy

Friendly staff fish n chips second to none well worth a visit

Food is good but wanted two mini fish specials but granddaughter wanted a few of the chips so asked if the peas could go in a carton if I pay for the carton as she doesn’t like peas I was charged 90p for an empty carton which I accepted but when I got home I seen I was £4 short on change. I rang them and was then told that because I didn’t have peas in the mix that they charge separately, nearly £2 more than she had said in the shop. This was still not £4. I was not Going to argue with them but will never visit this place again on principle

Very friendly staff that helped me get the best value from their menu. Excellent mini fish and chips meal deal (with ordinary curry sauce). A really excellent find and really hit the spot. Will definitely visit again when passing nearby. 🙂

Ordered a large Donna kebab meat in a tray after being advised by staff that there would be plenty for 2 people.
When l saw the portion that was being wrapped up for me l had to order another, the smallest portion of kebab meat l have ever been served.
Will not visit again, way over priced for the very small portions served.
