Cowplain Fish Bar

We ordered from here last week. Nothing strenuous, just a burger, some chips, a sausage and a Cod. Very basic things for a chippy should've been no problem.

Arrived relatively on time but they forgot the fish....in a fish and chips order. This was a treat from myself to my parents as due to cost of living we don't get takeaways much anymore.

I called up the restaurant assuming they'd be apologetic and arrange for one to be sent. However I was just immediately told I'd get a refund on JustEat. I didn't want a refund, I wanted the fish I paid for. Was told unless I pay a delivery fee they're not coming out for 1 fish, to which I said I'm not paying a fee as it's not my fault they messed up the order. The dude on the phone then gave me this absolute gem of a repsonse; 'I didn't mess up your order, I just forgot your fish'....now to me that sounds like messing up the order but I don't live in the same world the dude on the phone does apparently. After this I was basically told either take the refund or leave them alone. He was not willing to move on this.

I might be overreacting but we've ordered from them loads of times, never had an issue until now, but from the only time I've ever had to call them I got the impression they're the kind of people that would spit at you through the phone if they could. Won't be ordering from here again, the food and service isnt good enough to warrant being spoken to like they did to me.

The best local fish and chips! The fish is always perfect and the owners are the sweetest family! My parents always insist on fish and chips from here when visiting!

Placed an order at 16.50pm with another fish shop via just eat . Waited 1.5 hours only to be told they had cancelled my order for no reason. Called complain fish bar and I had my order in 30 mins and the food was excellent

We called this place as I fancied some ribs. We have never used this place before but went on recommendation. From the time we made the order over the phone to the time we received it, it was less than 30 mins.(Great service)
The ribs were good and so were the chips. To be honest we did have to reheat in the mircrowave but that is not a complaint !
I have given 5 stars and would use this fish bar again for sure.

Top chippy, top guys who own/work there. Good food at good prices. Quick and easy online ordering. Won't go anywhere else.
