Saw big queues everytime I pass so thought it must be good.....

Two large chips £4.30 and you only get v small portion!

I would advise against ordering small unless you are definitely not hungry!

We got there and we're straight in and ordered but there was soon a queue of people waiting to get theirs! Very popular by the looks of it.

Gone downhill since last visit.

Prices gone up massively. £3 for a fried sausage! for example. Staff were a bit miserable as well last visit. They also forgot a battered sausage and provided a non battered one. Couldn't be bothered to return for replacement as wanted to eat. Fish also tasted bland.

For 5 people it cost £48. You can get a decent curry for less than that. Chippy should be about 30 quid. Bring back the lemon plaice.

Nice food but came in today and the two young girls on the till we’re so rude and miserable. Giving all of the customers dirty looks, no please or thank you. They literally looked offended to have to be serving. Had the same last week. The ginger girl didn’t even say hi to any of the customers literally just stood there looking them up and down waiting for them to talk first. What a shame. I could tell the other customers were offended as they rolled their eyes.

We always have used Bigfry. But last night it was dreadful 4 of us had cod/haddock, fish was dry and so were chips.
I’m wondering if it has change hands, as miserable lot in their now.
Will have to try somewhere else!

Just wow. We have been to many, many fish and chip shops in our time but The Big Fry stands out. wow
We had a problem with our order (it was our mistake) but Charlie couldn’t do enough. He insisted we came back when he was there and when we did he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. He explained that he wants everyone to be happy and enjoy their food. Absolutely wonderful team and we will be back.

Excellent fish and chips. 99/100. Only comment is that I find it unusual that they charge 10p for a biodegradable carrier bag. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 5p/10p bag charge was to discourage people taking a bag that takes 100 years to break down, if the bag is now eco-friendly, what's the point in the charge?
