We were just visiting the area for the Anthony Gormley statues but fancied some fish and chips afterwards.

I had fish and chips. Very nicely made, way too much for me that evening but no complaint on the portion. The fish was good quality and cooked well, batter was spot on. The chips were cooked as I’d expect and tasted great. I’ve had fish and chips plenty of times so I know when I’m getting a good quality fish and this was definitely a good one.

My wife and the kids all had noodle dishes and there were no complaints at all. The kids probably could have eaten a single portion between them, but again, no issues as we were able to take them home.

The one criticism I do have is that they were cash only, but there were three cash machines within a short distance (closest was directly across the road and free to use).

I certainly would go again if we were in the area. Thanks guys!

Great fish and chip shop. Excellent vegetarian options all well labelled too, which is rare in itself. The staff are fantastic too. Cheers guys.

Just moved around the area and it is by far the best chippy in Liverpool from my opinion. Even when busy food was still made in a reasonable time. Staff couldn't be more polite and friendly if they tried. Can't see me ever going to another chippy unless they close in the near future. Going to get a crispy chilli beef now as we speak. Mouth watering

Worsted food ever had! Only thing that was nice was the juice out of the chicken and sweet corn soup! I spent near £30 not taste at all. Bbq sauce was disappointing, sweet and sour sickly an scallops had no potatoe and thicknl greasy batter and salt and pepper simmers batter was disgusting! Never again! Thought I would try my local chippy wow, so disappointed

Great food and big portions. Staff really friendly. Took one star off as sometimes the chips are pale and not crispy but on the whole really good.

Iv updated to 5 stars after spuds have changed and chips are fabulous now as is everything else. Best chippy in town!

Really disappointed with our first takeaway from here. They got our order wrong - we were given 2 sausages instead of a battered sausage, and a piece of medium cod was missing. The one piece of fish we received was greasy with the batter very pale and not cooked long enough. The batter was falling off the fish/it hadn't been coated properly. None of the chips were cooked (very pale, greasy, not crispy and some chips were raw / not cooked through). Majority of our dinner was thrown in the bin. Wouldn't visit again.

Adding additional info regarding owners comments: this is a review from a family of 5 getting takeaway from here for the first time. My mum and partner came in person to order for the family dinner on Friday evening. It was not a phone order. We ordered 1 large cod with 1 large chips and a battered sausage, 1 battered sausage and small chips, 1 medium cod and medium chips, 1 kids chicken nuggets and chips meal and a tub of curry sauce. At no point did any staff mention that there was no medium fish, or offer a substitute e.g. offer a large fish or small fish. What we received in our order was: 1 large cod and large chips with a battered sausage, 2 non-battered sausages (again no mention from the staff regarding the substitutions) and small chips, 1 small chips, 1 kids chicken nuggets and chips meal. Obviously there was no mechanism to check an order is correct until it is brought home. Unfortunately we couldn't trek all the way back to the shop to complain because it would have taken time and would have been past children's bed time. I have instead chosen to leave a review.
