Fresh Fry

Great fish/pie and chips. Portion sizes are bigger than I expected. Disappointed last time we got a kebab from here though; it was dried out and crusty, old and stale. Would still use for other food but avoid kebab it was not edible and had to throw away.

We initially tried this takeaway as it was very close to home, and therefore convenient. What a stroke of luck - the fish and chips are excellent - beautiful cod, masses of well cooked chips, plus extras (mushy peas, pickled onions). We've been back regularly for over a year now, and thoroughly recommend them to everyone.
To be fair, we haven't tried the kebabs and other products, but they appear to be of the same high quality.

I rarely have take away fish and chips mainly because they are often too greasy. That was not the case here. Good value and good service. Freshly made large portions of fish and chips and not too greasy.

So thought we'd have a little treat so ordered in some fish and chips (very British i know!). Food arrived very quickly but we thought we could smell ash, I specifically thought cigarette ash. Assuming it was that either the delivery driver or someone that had handled the box or something was a smoker we started eating. Getting towards the end of the curry sauce I discover a lump of cigarette ash, quite clearly cigarette ash as its smells like an ashtray.

So everybody feel free to avoid Fresh Fry on Grimwade Street in Ipswich, also on Just Eat.

Ordered 7 meals. All chips were lukewarm, sausages were only half battered and overall the food was dreadful.
Will be the last time I order from Fresh Fry as I actually like eating quality food.

Very poor. 1 hour after delivering we get it. Food was warmish. I got a curry sauce it turned up jelly like. Could have turned the pot upside down and it pop out like a panna cotta. Spicy chicken wings very very boring. Frozen 100 per cent then just put in fryer. Chips not great at all. Grease all over the papers. Will not be ordering again ill stick to cooking sausage and chips myself. Biggest waste of 15.80 going

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! The poorest customer service I have ever experienced! Order was supposed to be delivered at 6:30, it's now 7:30 and I'm still waiting. Called them and they decided to hang up the phone. Called back and they are 'still waiting for the driver' whilst I was in the middle of talking the man said 'thanks bye' I hadn't even go finished what I was saying!! Will never be buying from here again! If I could I wouldn't even give them a 1*. Disgusting.

Ordered home delivery. Chips arrived stone cold and not wrapped properly so when I tried to open the bag, it covered my kitchen in cold chips. When I phoned to complain, they pretended they couldn't understand me, then "generously" offered to replace the chips "on the house" . Even less impressed when the replacement turned up and it was half the amount, meaning I could feed the children but nothing for myself. Complained and they refused to give a refund or do anything else about it . Order online and take the gamble, or don't.
