From photos it looks like there has been a change in name and maybe ownership? It was quite busy as there seemed to be a bus load of tourists nearby so it did take a while to be served, however the gentleman acknowledged me. The chips were quite nice however the fish did not taste all that nice and the batter was bland and seemed oily as well. I’ve had worse fish and chips though

This place must have had a change of ownership since our last visit which was great. It's now up there with the worst fish and chips I've ever had.

We had the stuff wrapped and made the mistake of not checking before we left.

The portion size was dreadful, believe it or not the picture is haggis and chips, shameful.

Chips dry and I'm not sure if they were frozen not traditional as it says. The batter was heavy and soggy, we left most of it.

There were no mushy peas I went to londis and bought a tin!!

Horrifically expensive for what you get. On the bright side they do offer salt and vinegar.

The reason we went here was the monster fish bar by londis was poor, 2 years ago this was great sadly not now.

Save your sanity and your money go elsewhere.

We unfortunately witnessed racism at this location and I would recommend all potential patrons (and those visiting from out of town) to stay far away from this shop. I can't speak towards the quality of the food as we were immediately yelled out of the store on arrival, though our fellow (white) travelers were able to enter and be seated. Do NOT bring children into this establishment as it is NOT family friendly or safe -- you risk exposing them to potential harm as it's clear the staff are outwardly vocal about their prejudices and its unclear how far they'll go.

I do hope that in time the staff will reflect and grow, but in the mean time, I'll be regularly keeping an eye on this page and prepare a bottle of champagne for our next visit to the area in the event that they permanently shutter their establishment.

SUPER RUDE OWNER!!!!!

The food was great, had no complaints about that. The owner however was super rude to me because I had asked for one item and in a second changed my mind and wanted another item, now he hadn’t moved yet from behind the counter and he refused to change my order. I asked him why and he said “you already made your order… you can’t change it” so I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the owner but the food was great!

Had a poke of chips from here after cycling up from Laggan Locks. Standard fair but cooked to order hot and LOTS of them. Could have shared a singe portion comfortably between two adults. Nothing to complain about.

I can't comment on the rudeness of the owner as others have as we didn't experience this. The fish and chips were good but not the best I've had and pricey too. But it was a pleasant experience sitting outside with them and the order went smoothly.

I went to get fish and chips at this shop today. The food was of decent quality, definitely worth the money. However, the staff was downright rude. I felt like I was standing in a military line. I have never encountered such disrespectful and even agressieve staff in my life.
Even despite the OK quality of food, I would not recommend this shop to visitors of Fort Auguste.
