Central Chippy Takeaway

Visited back in August. This is a combination of an old school chippy and made to order pizzeria. There's social distancing procedures in place, so there was a queue well out into the pavement.

When I looked at the displays, I figured the chips are probably fried together with meat, so I ordered a pizza instead. There were several vegetarian options available, with options for additional toppings, but I just went with a simple Sweetcorn Pizza. The chef does make the pizza to order and they have a proper oven for cooking a pizza.

I though the pizza was only okay. The tomato puree was clearly not freshly made, with an overwhelming canned puree flavour. The prices are keen compared to a proper pizzeria, so you can't expect the best.

Wow, we got lost and found this gem of a place by accident. I ordered what thought was mini fish and chips but got two pieces of cod worthy of a restaurant! No soggy or greasy batter here, oh no, both pieces of my fish were in the most fresh crispy batter, chips were fantastic.

I have put this place on my satnav and next time I'm up in the area, we will divert

I went for the special fish supper. A right treat. I went for a bit of chippy sauce as well. Great treat and lovely flavour to the batter. Chips were tasty and fresh.

Hmm… been a customer for 3 years now and it’s from bad to worse. Lack of competition I suppose. You employ a qualified chef… and I’m being served a raw, chopped cabbage as a salad??? 🤣🙌🏻 Make him concentrate on doing his job right rather than being inappropriate with customers ( loud and flirtatious) I CAN COOK BETTER just being lazy 😆

Top quality pizza from here. I built my own, very tasty. Always remember the gorgeous lady I was talking to while we waited for our food. I kind of wish i was her takeaway for the evening, Great place for food highly recommended. Mr Woodward 😎

Fast service, food great with great choices of chips shop items or pizza and kebabs etc.

Decent chip shop. Good selection on 9ffer from oven pizzas kebabs and of course fish and chips. Take out only. You can pay by card or cash

It's probably the only place I've been where they serve not just everything fish n chips but pizza, burgers and kebabs. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and do all they can to get your order perfect. 10 out of 10 well done 👏
