Express Takeaway

Food would have likely been nice if actually hot or even warm.

Do not usually use this chippy, rather prefer another one in Caerphilly which is currently closed.

Large chip portion size and price is poor compared to rest of Caerphilly.

I will not be returning to Express Takeaway. Felt like wasted calories!

I sadly didn’t want to leave a review with one star as I do eat from here every now and the food is always really nice, hot and nothing to complain about. Staff always nice when I go in too.

One day i decided to order from Uber eats even though I live in the area I’d worked long days and didn’t want to go out. Ordering from there I could see the driver got it. Thought great. Then said has another drop off and on the map the driver was going to Abertridwr. Said will be another 10 mins. Then looked again and another driver now has my food. They had met each other and the other driver now has my food. Then the app says this driver has another run and is in Trecenydd. So by time my food arrives it’s 50 minutes from ordering, which I thought whatever I’m just hungry.

The food was (no joke) stone cold! Well of course it would be as it’s been 50 mins since it left the store. Honestly after all that time I couldn’t even eat it. So gutted! I complained to Uber eats they gave me 79p. What an insult!! Called the chip shop as it’s still their shop and if they choose to use Uber eats they are still responsible for customers orders. The guy I spoke to was lovely and said sorry and we will get someone to call you back and offer you a voucher all this bla bla but never happened so this is why I’ve left my review. I won’t be using as often as I did. I definitely wouldn’t order from Uber eats either worst part I gave them the driver a tip when I ordered for it to be passed around and turn up freezing! Awful from both shop and driver.

Came here for a spare of the moment, late dinner, when we had been out to a Halloween event. I was a little skeptical because of the stars on Google but it was the most convenient place to go. Well I am extremely impressed and pleased we made the decision to go here because the service was the quickest I have ever experienced in a chip shop, all with a friendly smile. The price was good and the kids meal was a great price as it included a drink. The quality of the food was amazing, probably one of the best chippy dinners I have ever had, not greasy, nice crispy chips on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside We will definitely be eating here again when we are in the area.

Went today ordered Clark’s pie and chips
Noticed a tiny bit of green mild on pie when I ordered it was the last one there early lunchtime.
Hence to say inside pie was much worse I was by now to far away to return it I certainly won’t be going back .

Went in to get a bacon roll for lunch. I was told no, just like that. Oh, do you have bacon? Yes. Do you have rolls? Yes. Can I have a bacon roll? No. If I wanted a bacon burger would you cook the bacon and put it with a burger in a roll? Yes. Can I have that without a burger? No! After I said this seemed a bit weird, both staff turned their backs on me, totally ignore me, then blanked me and talked to other customers!! Incredibly bad service and both very rude. Not what I was expecting.

If the owner of the business sees this, then I would suggest you think again about how to service customers. This isn't how to please people and how to make money! As a business owner myself I could not understand this, or the rudeness of the staff. Will never come here again.

You had everything I wanted, were happy to cook it, but would not sell it to me! Has to be bonkers, clearly don't want to please customers or make money.

Popped to the cafe about 20 yards away instead and they had rolls and bacon and said they'd happily make me a bacon roll!

Gutted to be writing this. Have been using this place for many years and always enjoy the food but the last two times has been shocking!!! I don’t know whether you have changed ownership or changed chef but the food has been both lukewarm and poor quality. Eating out/takeaway is a luxury these days and to be served scraps is unacceptable. Sorry guys but you seriously need to sort your quality or chef out because you have just lost a very loyal customer

Called in at 4.30pm we were given cold chips left over from lunch, and two cold clarks pies. Result was £14 thrown in the bin.

Could you please update your opening times... I went here at 9.10pm and was told it was shut so had no chips to go with my Chinese
