The Plaice

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING! Asked for a donner meat and chips! It appalling! They chucked everything together and did not listen to what I wanted salad and sauce I wanted. Threw chilli sauce all over it so could not eat it!
Also the guy who served us was rude and so blunt!
DEFO WONT BE GOING THERE AGAIN!!

Average, feel it is overrated, kebab/chippy. Cod was ok, batter was good.Definitely not the worst around here though. Paid £4.50 for a (3 person chips) but say it was a two person portion.
Also cash only, somehow.
Been here plenty of times before but remember it being better.

Nice chippy and helpful staff.

Some negatives though hence the 3 stars:
- cash only
- food can be bad sometimes, not sure if it's the cook/time of day or something
- it's so busy and there's no parking outside. The delivery drivers take all the spaces

August 2022 Shop still cooks great fish and chips BUT due to heavy demand and use by collection/delivery services, ordinary customers have to wait much longer for their orders to be fulfilled.

Just had a great meal from The Plaice - trouble is, It wasn’t what I wanted - I ordered Haddock and ate cod and my friend said her cod was just like haddock - really wish they would just put an initial on the delivery box! Apart from that - great

Amazing fish and chips, my new local favourite!

Never disappointed here. Food always really good, staff friendly.
