Crossfit 249 is the best gym I have ever been to. The atmosphere is amazing, friendly, inclusive and fun.

Bernie and Courtney are superb coaches. Having anxiety makes trying something new really tricky, but they have made it easy for me to learn, push past my self doubt and enjoy fitness again.
I never thought CrossFit would be for me! I imagined it would be too hard, I would need to be slim and I would hurt myself. But now I know none of my fears were true. Bernie and Courtney are teaching me the safe way to lift weights, learn new moves and train my body to be strong.

The coaches are always around to help with nutrition for weight loss or knowing what to eat before and after training. They also give tips on their Instagram and Facebook pages which is really helpful.

Crossfit 249 has a great community of members and I’ve made great friends! Every time I’m training I feel safe and always have fun. It’s the best place to be.

Having recently revived my fitness and well being attitude, I found myself six months into a consistent gym routine. CrossFit started appearing on my Instagram which soon followed by swift research into local CrossFit Boxes.

CrossFit 249 was the most local. I soon found myself on a fundamentals course with Courtney and being a complete novice to CrossFit, the course was hugely beneficial.

I’m now three weeks in and can’t wait to get to the gym in the mornings. Bernie and Courtney know thier stuff. The workouts are challenging and rewarding. If you’re new to fitness and want to change your lifestyle, call Bernie and Courtney. You will not regret it. Pick up the phone.

The biggest surprise of all is the sudden sense of community. The support network is unbelievable. I fully understand why the CrossFit movement has taken the world by storm.

This gym is such a great place to go to achieve any fitness goal you have. The coaches are so knowledgeable and motivational. The community of members of the place give such support and it is like you join a different kind of family. The workouts are so varied and each day is something new and challenging. CrossFit249 will push you to be the best you can be and will work with you at the level that suits you best. Never have I ever felt so comfortable being part of a gym and I never thought I would enjoy CrossFit. Thanks to CrossFit249 I now love it.

Really friendly and inclusive CrossFit box. Everyone is very welcoming and I’ve never experienced such a community-focused training facility. I was made to feel welcome from the day I started and four months on it is my second home! I started CrossFit as a complete beginner and now I’m starting to dip my toe into competitions and other events :)

I started my crossfit journey here back in January 2022 when it opened and haven't looked back. I mainly go to the 6am sessions due to family and work commitments, but it definately sets me up for the day despite the early start!
I have learnt so much about myself and my abilities since being coached by Bernie and Courtney. I have always pushed myself harder during exercise but completing the fundamentals programme before officially starting really helps the coaches to learn about how best to coach you and encourage you to reach the goals you set.
I know there are alot of aspects of crossfit I'm not competent at just yet but I'm working hard every session and that is only made easier with the encouragement of the coaches and amazing community of great people cheering each other on.
There is a scaled version of each movement to make you feel included, not everyone can do what the athletes on the TV can do, although something to aim for if that's your goal.
I'm looking forward to seeing where my crossfit journey takes me in the coming years and will have a great time doing so I just know it!

Where do I start?! I was looking for something to restart my fitness journey, and came across CrossFit 249. After an initial conversation with Courtney I was convinced, and signed up. A little over 4 weeks later, and I truly feel like part of the furniture.
The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the coaches have an infectious passion for what they do - the support they give is second to none, working with you to meet your needs, while helping with any issues or challenges along the way.

Booked 1:1 personal training to help get me back to me following chemotherapy.
Courtney tailored sessions exactly to my needs, goals, and ability, with encouragement and sensitivity. My confidence and fitness have grown, and I have truly enjoyed every session. I’m now looking forward to joining classes. Cannot recommend Crossfit249 highly enough. Thank you Courtney.

Absolutely life-changing! I was once naïve enough to think that CrossFit was not for me. I considered myself a casual runner but lifting weights and coached classes felt far too daunting. But my mind was changed within the first class (or at least once it was over)!

CrossFit 249 is a spectacular space and they've used every inch of it effectively for functional fitness. It doesn't take long to realise just how good the value for money is, particularly when you consider how much that equates to each class, the coaching received and improvements made week on week. Not to mention the FUN had!

I feel so welcomed by coaches and members alike, whether it's at a 6am class to set me up for the day or for a good de-stress class after work in the evening. I've never been concerned for a second that the qualified coaches/gym owners are unsure of how to help me improve my technique and reach my goals, and the hour long class consisting usually of strength work and a WOD (workout of the day) allows them time to see to each of us and cater their coaching on an individual basis.

What I hadn't considered before starting CrossFit is the difference that a community spirit will make to keeping fit. It's the encouragement from others around you on a similar fitness path that gets you through the more intense workouts and it's amazing to see your new workout buddies do things they never thought they could. After all that, it's just a bonus to look in the mirror and see a new you and feel fitter across the board. It has complimented my running and helped me improve upon my power, strength, endurance, speed, balance and coordination – all qualities central to good running performance.

So I can certainly recommend booking an intro now and meeting the wonderful Courtney and Bernie. You'll soon find yourself, like me, never looking back!
