The Gym Group Ayr

Great equipment, good amount of space and staff friendly. The gym is very clean too and the staff seem to be very on the ball with cleaning stations down. Only a couple of bits of kit are marked as do not use. I was very surprised there was do much that was available actually. Couldn't get in though with app so this probably needs some work as this meant I struggled to get in and get out. The keypad worked eventually in way in and did work on way out but much prefer contactless at the moment.

great gym, very clean, good equipment. However, I have had to cancel my membership due to aggressive behaviour of other members: getting into personal space, hostile staring, intimidating behaviour. A number of guys have been doing this but there is one particular guy who is clearly a serious body builder and built like a tank, and he is there every morning. This guy is eventually going to rip my head off with his bare hands. Not a safe place for LGBT+ people.

Just a quick update to this review (the 5 stars still stand after a year) and a counterpoint to the "Australian" PT comment that was mentioned recently. My experience, and anyone else's I personally am aware of, is that this individual is a stand out, but in all the right reasons - his knowledge is top notch and his clear enthusiasm and dedication to his clients is evident from just sharing the gym floor with them. A gym is full of individual personalities, and not everyone will click with each other- I'd rather have a gym full of engaged and energetic PTs such as him, over the opposite option. Just felt I should speak up since an individual was personally called out in this manner in a public forum. Cheers.

No nonsense gym. Go in - exercise - shower - job done ! Very clean, loads of equipment. Plenty of weights and random things needed for a CrossFit style workout. A good ratio of men to women so hopefully women wouldn’t be intimidated in here - which happens in some gyms. Staff and other users are friendly.
And the price - fantastic !!

Very very good gym which is well managed. Not just the best gym in Ayr but possibly the best gym in the whole wide world

Unfortunately what let's this place down is an obnoxious Australian guy who I assume is a personal trainer, I'm sure many people reading this will know exactly what and who I'm talking about.
I've heard him making insulting comments about gym members. Ive also heard other gym members mention how he makes them feel uncomfortable. I'm surprised someone like this continues to work here.

Excellent gym! The place is big and spacious with loads of well maintained machines and other gym equipment, place is spotless and the staff are always keeping it that way, all instructors are very approachable and always willing to advise or just have a general chat, very cheap too, great place to train
