JV Carpentry

Previous review RETRACTED. I would like to cancel my recent poor review of this company due to a misunderstanding which Jeff has called me about and personally explained at length - the circumstances for his not replying were personal and totally understandable given the situation he was in. So please ignore my one star review. I have tried relentlessly to delete that review through my google account but it doesn't seem to work so I hope this will serve as explanation enough. My home is small but perfectly formed —except for the lack of storage. My flatmates and I had 4 years of battling with ourselves. "Where does this live? Where should it live? Where will it fit?" I finally decided enough was enough and decided to invest in some clever storage solutions.

George and Jeff and their team of carpenters and painters built a set of wardrobes under the stairs, a whole wall of bookshelves, and a TV stand designed to fit into an awkward space.

They were quick, efficient, and reliable. The work is very skilfully done. The end results are better than I'd envisioned. I may need to buy more books to fill the space!

Our experiences with this company were a bit mixed. The sales team was friendly and professional, and we were also happy with the carpenters. However, we had some issues with the painter, both with regards to the quality of his work and his attitude and communication. Contrary to what we were promised, the painter initially rushed through with his work within 2.5 days for four two-door alcove bookcases without much attention to detail. We had to complain about the quality of his work twice, work that he should have done properly straightaway himself. He kept saying that he is only being paid for basic quality so that we should accept well over 20 different problematic areas of patches of paints, scratches, brush marks and areas that were poorly or not painted properly at all. With an agreed price of over £1000 per two-door alcove bookcase, this was unacceptable. With Jeff and George getting involved, we are now satisfied with the final result although the process that has led to this result was quite cumbersome. The quality is now good. Except for the painter, the quality of the professional service provided by JV Carpentry is good as well.

They have made our two book shelves and separately fixed our existing useless drawer into an amazing drawer including clothes rails. The team responded swiftly and from planning to delivery it only took about 1 week. They have done an amazing job installing & painting as well. Very competitive pricing and super high quality. Highly recommended and would use them again if we need to customise a furniture again.

George and his team did a fantastic installing built in wardrobes and shelving around my fireplace. His team were polite and helpful and I am delighted with the end result. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

We have been very impressed and extremely pleased with George and his team, Vitali (carpenter) and Tores (painter), Excellent service from the time George surveyed to the handover after painting and final adjustment, our new wardrobes look fantastic! giving us a huge amount of much needed storage space, thanks again to everyone! we will have no problem using JV Carpentry again and would certainly recommend Jv carpentry to friends and family and anyone wanting very good quality carpentry work done!

They did excellent job with my custom made wardrobe. I could not be happier with the design. I tried first with some big well established companies but it turned out they were able to do made to measure only within certain limits and in the end were unable to to produce what I needed. So I hired Jv Carpentry and what they did exceeded my expectations. They were also great to work with and have around.

George's team were amazing from planning to painting and all the finishing touches. I went for a modern style of alcove cabinets and they've made such a difference to storage at home!
