Great customer service and very willing to help out in the local community. Thank you very much to George and Lee for taking the time to cut up 50 lengths of cardboard tubing for the children of a local primary school to use in a D+T project.

We went into store on a nice quiet Sunday. We chose our carpet and were given good customer service by a gentleman. He gave us accurate info on times etc. we got a phone call as promised. Had a choice of dates to book in. On the day the fitter rang me to say he would be with me in 20 mins. He was. Carpet was fitted by him and he was kind and courteous. He also cleaned up after he finished. So I have no complaints. The carpet is lovely. We will definitely go back as we are very pleased. I recommend them without hesitation. Yea

I would not recommend this carpet company to anybody.

Whilst I understand that things happen which are beyond our control, communication isn't one of them.

Jo in the branch was fantastic at making us feel welcome and did her best to showcase their carpets to which we decided to purchase - can't fault that part of the service however....

6 weeks go by and no call to book in arranging the fitting. After numerous chasing I finally got a date (another 2 weeks) and arranged to get the furniture into storage as the entire downstairs of the house was being done.
The day of the fitting I got a call to say that they would not be attending and couldn't get back out to me for another week.
With a 37 week pregnant partner that wasn't acceptable.

Going to down to the branch and having a polite word with the regional manager I was told that their only fitter had hurt his leg the previous week (plenty of notice for me to get something in place to "get by").

Amazingly the fitter made a recovery in the afternoon and was out with me the next working day (The workmanship was more than acceptable - even if he did forget half of his kit)

At this point, I was out of pocket an extra days storage due to the delay and their regional manager wasn't prepared to offer any kind of contribution for the hassle and continued to raise his voice in my own house to which he was asked to leave.

2 weeks go by, and the piles in the carpet we had fitted upstairs started coming away from the base layer. It's taken me over 3 months (including shipping from the supplier) to get the replacement.
I've just had a phone call to say that the incorrect colour has arrived.

I think this company needs to have a look at itself, it's processes and the way in which is deals with its customer service.

If your thinking of shopping at this branch then do yourself a favour and walk across the road to Melton Castle Carpets. Save yourself some money, time and a lot of grief!

Absolutely shocking service, carpet fitter never turned up, and when I called they told me they didn’t see the paperwork, and the carpet fitter is on holiday. I was told I would get a call back to reschedule and they didn’t even bother! Worst service I have ever had!!!

Purchased the “Chelsea” carpet which we were happy with, on being prompted to pay, I wanted to check the fitting date (as we both work full time) 2 weeks on Saturday sounded perfect! We cleared the room the day before and rang them on the Friday at 3pm to check they were still coming and they confirmed. 10:20 on Saturday get a call to say fitter had hurt his knee! (Seems quite common according to other reviews) and apparently they only have one fitter? they couldn’t come till the following Wednesday, I was more than annoyed and they agreed Monday, which was still inconvenient but they had our money and us over a barrel! The fitters did arrive on Monday and did a good job, but funnily enough didn't know anything about a job booked on a Saturday?!?! Would not recommend United Carpets based on our experience, fitters were efficient, on the day.

This company is only interested in taking your money. They are unreachable, their automated email states ‘all emails responded to within 48 hours’, I emailed them on 20 Jan!

Absolutely the worst customer service. My complained about the carpet I purchased and my complaint was ‘rejected’. When I purchased my carpets I was given no aftercare. £987 down the drain. I was even told on the phone by a store assistant that they ‘were not allowed to speak to me’ and that the regional manager would contact me. That was last year….

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Zero stars.

Go to Melton Castle Carpets across the road, I purchased my bathroom floor from there and they provided a very helpful, efficient and reliable service. That’s all you can ask!!

Would give zero stars if I could. Avoid at all costs. I paid £872 to have all my downstairs carpets replaced. Only after the the carpets were fitted was I informed all four doors would not close. They even removed a door to fit one of the carpets and refused to put it back.

Returned to the shop to inform them the floor strips they had fitted prevented the doors from closing. However, as they had now took my money, they no longer cared about what I had to say. There was no aftercare, they refused to rectify the issue and were very rude and condescending in the process.

I contacted the contractor to request they come back to replace the bodged floor strip they had fitted, they wouldn't return my calls or messages.

The shop told me to hire a joiner to trim the doors, to fix the issue they caused. They had not informed me this would have been an issue until after the carpets had been fitted. I had to pay a further £60 out of my own pocket to hire a joiner, to trim the doors.

Once they have your money you're of no need to them. They don't want to hear from you anymore. Terrible experience and would not recommend. If you enjoy wasting your time and money then United Carpets and Beds are for you.

The communication at this place is shockingly bad. We were told that we were going to have measurements done on a certain day then he never showed up then when we chased he said he didn't know why we were told that then rearranged for another day. When we went to chose a carpet we were offered no help or guidance on the best carpet for our needs and uses. When we were having the lounge carpets done we were told they would be here mid morning then chased when it got to lunchtime, were told about 2pm. Chased again at half 2 and they arrived at gone 3.30. I wish we'd have gone to Melton Carpets in the first place, not only is their service far better, they are cheaper than United Carpets. I am giving United a 3 star because the carpet fitters did a good job and we are pleased with the job they did.
