Carpetright

By far the worst experience I have had with any retailer, and I have dealt with know how at curries. carpet was booked 3 weeks in advance and was scheduled to be installed on a Tuesday, apparently a Boom Truck was parked in front of our carpet and it had broken down, this meant they could not get or carpet for several days until it was fixed, I understand that these things happen, however we were not informed at any point by carpet right about this, the Independent contracted carpet fitter had to update us, we were left with a house with underlay and carpet strips in but with no carpet for almost 3 days, not a massive issue until you factor in a 6 Month old baby who had recently started crawling and a house full of sharp tacks in almost every room, I had to contact the store multiple times to find out what was going on and they are virtually impossible to contact and almost never come back to you. the cheaper prices we got for the carpet were not worth the aggravation with dealing with this company, would recommend going elsewhere...

Needed to wait over 2 weeks for someone to measure! Unacceptable, staff was new and didn’t know what she was doing either, then had to wait for someone else to come and see us- now a great experience. Ended up paying more next door at Tapi carpets - but 2 days for someone to measure and and much nicer experience- pop next door. You get what you pay for!

We were helped with our choice of carpet which was good, however when we came to asking for a "free home consultation" (as offered in store) they wanted £200 from us to "send someone out". Needless to say we refused and walked out. I don't feel they happy to offer what is advertised.

Absolutely shocking service. Cannot believe how much we were messed around! Lies upon lies upon lies.

Ordered carpets and vinyl beginning of March, the country then went into lock down so we understood and expected slight delays. We completed on our house on 29th May, and was assured from the store manager that we would have all our flooring fitted before this date. A week before completion, we were told that our carpet was out of stock. We then went into store and had to choose another option - when we asked the store manager to check the stock of this one, he told us he couldn't and that the systems would not let them????

2 days before completion, we were then again told that this 2nd option was out of stock. We then took time out of our day yet again to go to store and choose a 3rd option. This option we chose was one that the store manager pulled out for US and told us it was definitely in stock. Therefore, we asked him to order it and he told us that the Bedford store was receiving it before Stevenage, so they were going to transfer it over from there.

It was meant to be delivered to the store on the Tuesday after our completion, coincidentally, the carpets were not delivered and neither were the vinyls - may I add that we were always assured from the very beginning that the vinyl would not be an issue to source. We asked for proof that the flooring was actually ordered, which the store manager could not provide.

During this whole ordeal we called the store countless amounts of times for updates / any sort of communication as we were not receiving any, and to this day, have still been told that they DON'T KNOW when they can expect the delivery / fitting of our flooring.

We have now had no choice but to cancel our order with them as they have completely ruined our experience as first time buyers and this memory will always stick with us.

To top it off - we even had to measure our own house for them.

Darren at the Stevenage shop has been absolutely amazing, he has been so helpful and I cannot recommend him enough! I will definitely be back in the future.Thank you for your support and kindness Darren, my mum and I really appreciate it.

We received exceptional service from Nina at the Stevenage branch. We walked in late one evening needing to carpet our 5 bed whole house at very short notice & she very quickly reassured me that it was all possible for the following week! Within half hour Nina & had arranged for a surveyor to visit to measure early the next morning & booked in the fitters for a weeks time. The next day we went back once all the measurements were in to choose our carpets based on what was available. Nina was very patient with us whilst we chose & had great advice & quickly knew what we were after. We were honestly really very impressed. The fitters were fabulous & we love all the carpets. Would not hesitate to recommend & use again as Nina literally saved us! Thank you millions we can’t speak highly of you enough.
