I have attended the first international Inaugural conference of the Ginko Library, at SOAS university, London, December 2014 entitled "THE FIRST WORLD WAR AND ITS AFTERMATH: THE SHAPING OF THE MIDDLE EAST". It was a great experience which will perhaps shape my own view of the relation between East and West. Many esteemed scholars from around the world came with different views about the theme and were all ready to discuss and explain during the sessions or even in interesting side talks over food or coffee breaks. And I believe that My own existence, together with my colleague Dr Amira Elzekred as two Moslem scholars of humanities who came all the way from Egypt just to listen, learn, and understand is a living example of the East-West Dialogue; the very idea the Ginko Library is based on.
We were always welcomed and helped together with being nourished with interesting ideas and information.
