Came in for very late afternoon tea. Was met by a very friendly waitress. Have never visited the area or the restaurant. It was a quiet night, the place is clean. It did have a slight fishy smell but I think it was just the type of food being cooked. We had the ham sandwich which was very nice. The scones were a the perfect size and warm. The cakes were nice, the one that was slightly dry was the chocolate and red velvet cake. Everything was nicely presented. The teas were enough for us to have 2 full cups each. The ladies toilets were clean and dry.

Nice french cuisine - Visited with my family, kids enjoyed their time at the restaurant. Good food well presented but bit expensive for the quantity they served. Staff is very friendly and attentive around the table all the time. We didn’t liked the mocktails which we ordered, but staff understood and changed it straightaway.

My wife liked her starter King prawns and my Garlic mushrooms was yummy. Main course we had Chicken Burger and Leffe beer battered fish which was delicious, would recommend others to try. My daughter spent her time on solving the puzzle and drawing Chilly Billy. Desert we tried Hot chocolate fondant and Creme brulle which was good.

Would visit again and recommend to others who like to try french food.

The food was undercooked. I wasn't complaining, I just asked for a bill. A very kind waitress asked me what was wrong with the food, why did I not finish. I told her, she immediately told the manager. I got £10 discount. I did not ask for it, they offered. However the food worth absolutely 0.

No longer Cafe Rouge but now Rouge, menu has gone a bit more upmarket, as have the prices but food was lovely. Jack Fruit Tagine was excellent. Staff also very attentive and overall a very pleasant lunch.

I had the beef bourguignon and it was delicious. The decor is very nice too.

20/9/21 - The Rouge Breakfast was great value for money and tasty.

28/11/21 - The fillet mignon was expertly cooked, best steak I've had in a while.

Great ambiance
Friendly staff
Delicious food

Tried the vegetarian breakfast and hot chocolate
So yummy (or maybe I was too hungry)

Suggestion: maybe they could add vegetarian sausages as well in the vegetarian breakfast

6 of us went for breakfast, unfortunately no one ate all their breakfast, sausages looked like they had just come from pack to plate, snotty eggs, anemic hash browns & fatty bacon the black pudding was rock solid! The children had pancakes with fruit but because it had pineapple chunks on it the pancakes turned stodgy and not so nice. Unfortunately we won't be back
