The Great Furniture Trading Company

We purchased a table and chairs for deliver within 4-6 weeks. On the last day we are informed that the chairs are still on a container ship and will not be in the UK until another 6 weeks time. We ask if they can at the very least if they can deliver the table on time, and they then ask us to pay additional because there will be 2 deliveries not one. How is that our fault? This company was not able to fulfil it's obligations of sending us our order on time and they pass on the costs of a partial remedy to us. I would avoid this company, there are many other options available with similar products.

The not so great and not so little amount of landfill that comes with their products. Utterly irresponsible amount of polystyrene just to protect my order. There are other options to package products GLTC need to step up and think about how much landfill they produce and find some reusable options. It would put me off shopping there again.. Really disappointed with the customer service I just received from “the great furniture company” certainly was not great, but awful! I wish I could give zero stars. My glass table exploded whilst my family were asleep last night and the glass had shot into tiny pieces across the room. This could have been so dangerous we also have a pet dog and children in the house who could have been seriously Injured.

My order was purchased in 2017 and was a glass high gloss San Diego 180cm Rectangle table which I was told over the phone -has now been discontinued.

The CS advisor explained there was nothing they could do and my pictures would not prove the table was damaged by a manufacturing fault and they couldn’t offer me anything at all except advise me to contact my home insurance. The lady tried to assure me that I had a chip in the table and that my heating had caused the table to implode! I can assure the table was in perfect condition and there is a manufacturing issue with this item.

This could have been a very dangerous situation and I warn anyone thinking of purchasing a glass table from this company to think again!

I would strongly advise the company to reach out to me again before I take this any further. To be shunned like this is so unacceptable.

I'm very happy with what we ordered from the Great Furniture Trading company. However it's the
excellent customer service that I've been most impressed with. After I contacted them regarding an issue I had with one of the items that i'd ordered, they listened to my concerns and made a real effort to resolve the matter quickly, replacing the item concerned within a few days. They deserve a lot of credit for the way they handled everything.

The table and chairs I brought are lovely quality. Very happy. The only thing I am disappointed with is their return policy. I brought a table with 2 chairs set and added 2 more chairs. The table can only really take 2 chairs so I rung customer service to return the other 2 chairs (which are still boxed) and they told me it would cost £81 for them to collect them. I expected to pay to send them back, which obviously wouldn’t be that cheap, but they only offer collection. The pair of chairs were about £110. So it’s not worth me sending them back. So they are currently sitting in a box in my cupboard!!! Make sure you are perfectly happy with what you are ordering because it could cost you if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it!!!

Ordered table and four chairs,tables fine but all the chairs are shocking,some with splits in the wood and others with massive gaps in the joins,looks like something a 5 year old has knocked up in a school project.customer services have been trying to help,at present the new replacement chairs will be arriving Friday,fingers crossed all will be well with those.chairs arrived,pretty good condition but still a few scratches and gaps in joins,but atleast now I have a table and chairs.would not use this company again as I wouldn't have the confidence in them after the initial experience,but maybe others will have more luck than me.also,this company will make you jump through hoops to get any sort of refund for inferior produce.They rely on you giving up as its requires endless emails and attachments,congrats to the great furniture company,your tactic has worked, I surrender,keep your money,it isn't worth my time and effort anymore.cheers.ps,top pic is one of the new chairs that was sent out.other pics are the originals.

Just to update my previous review, credit to Vishal they contacted us after and have sent a replacement section for the damaged chair.

I guess time will tell as to how well the furniture holds up, but you will need to keep an eye on the screws holding the chairs together, mine had all worked a bit loose, having been well tightened.

We purchased a kitchen table, chairs and bench form them recently, there were quite a few blemishes and little bits of damage and general poor workmanship. But we needed to keep it at the time so we reported these to the company and decided to accept some money back as I didn't want to have to pack it all up again and return it. With hindsight wish we had one of the chairs has developed a split in one of the legs, the set just looks tatty for something only a few months old. Couldn't recomend this furniture either pay a bit more and get something better or just get a cheap set or go second hand.

Always great quantity items, bought many times!
