St John's Plant Centre

Just been here for Christmas decorations the selection is outstanding great place to take the kids they have a train ride around the place ( not ready yet ) but the kids love it and its great for flowers all the year round.

Usually a great garden centre but this time of year, February, not many plants yet. But open for accessories, pots etc., good selection. Prices, I think, are reasonable. The centre is huge, well laid out, and mostly under cover. Plenty of room in the car park but it is full of large pot holes, muddy and horrible if wet, (the reason for 4 stars).

Car park resurfaced (bonus) plenty of plants and variety but service like a fast food restaurant. Pity no cafe and greengrocer gone which was very good,but I suppose seasonal didn't suit the position.
No people around for advice.
More towards wholesale site but retail prices.no disabled parking that I could see. 2 wheelchairs offered. Knackered

I was recommended this centre by someone in the gardening trade, but obviously not their customer service!!
I can’t believe how me and my wife were treated by someone on the till called Delia I believe.
We had purchased the week before few plants, flowers etc and I wanted slate stones for garden pond, these were 3 for £12,I bought 9, after setting out Stones at home 2 were really the wrong shape, anyway, I needed 15 more so few days later I got more plants etc and stones.. I said to ‘Delia’
About two I’d just bought and would like to swap them for 2 that were suitable, I was shocked when in a rude way she said we don’t exchange! ‘ these are not plants or flowers which could have deteriorated maybe, this was a lump of stone! I pointed out the sign that said returns can be exchanged if faulty, but it’s a lump of stone! So I had to buy 3 more to finish my job because she wouldn’t just swap like for like! Perhaps I should have broken the rocks in two and return as faulty.
What a policy! and this rude jobsworth. I’d spent £96 on the rocks for this treatment and could have saved £12 if it wasn’t for this stupid policy
I will never shop at St Johns again, I hope they read this and hope others don’t put up with this .....Mr J Worton

One of the best garden centres around Clacton well worth a visit. Bought a selection of cactus all half price, very pleased with them.

Their plants are good quality very reasonably priced but even better sale prices. Staff good as well

Everything apart from compost and rocks was half price, we got a 7ft lemon tree with 53 lemons on it for £50, bargain

It was great there are so many beautiful flowers, as you mean, I buy them all
