The agaves at the back...I have no idea if they were a display or for sale but what a sad, sorry state they were in.
Nice cat. Can't take dogs in though, but they were able to make use of the outdoor areas at the front to keep doggo & partner occupied whilst I picked some things up.
Would go back for fuscia but Pughs is nearby & much better quality for anything else.
There were the two statutory rude men at the cash register area. Very reluctant to get off their backside. If they were only to say, "hello" and greet new customers, they'll double their income overnight. We deliberately tried to NOT buy anything but we needed a bag of compost.
How this establishment manages to function as a business, I can't imagine. It's as though the owner wants to run the place into the ground. Fuchsias were there sure enough but the display was sadly in need of watering and pruning. Many other plants but the whole place seemed sad and neglected. It wouldn't hurt the two men at the tills to get off their backside and do some watering from time to time.
I've never spotted any public toilets but that doesn't mean there definitely aren't any. I've just never needed to go whilst there so could very well have walked passed them.
It is wheelchair friendly.
They do sell some refreshments. There is a drinks chiller and ice lolly freezer near the checkout by the look of it but I've never needed to buy anything so couldn't tell you exactly what is on offer.
***Update - I went to Pughs recently but couldn't get to Brynawel afterwards due to a road closure. Managed to go today though and have to day that the range of plants on offer outside was much better than Pughs. I know it's late January but it's an ideal time to shop for evergreens and trees and Brynawel were well stocked for that. Brynawel will be my first stop when I take the mother in law out to look for her garden supplies
Mercifully well spread out & quiet.
There is indeed a cafe, but it was closed during Covid & time I was there after last Lockdown.
. ****NB NB NB THESE PLANTS ARE POTTED UP & DISPLAYED in their correct season****
Perhaps Staff not paid sufficiently to pass on their valuable knowledge??
However good experience overall. Thanks
