Nice welcome and great start to service.
Lovely starters, main course very tasty, cheese board slightly disappointing, presentation was poor for the cheese booad, no variety in biscuits and had to ask for butter and side plates as we shared the cheese board to end. Otherwise quality tasty food and the blackpud scotch egg starter was delicious. The Malbec was very nice.

It's a great indication when the staff are happy to be serving you. Smiling and relaxed atmosphere. A clean and contemporary decor, varied menus including Vegan. We opted for a light starter of home cooked nachos & pulled pork with side order of skin on fries.. Tasty and moreish x

Family birthday outing. 5 of us over three generations. They were very busy, and it isn't the easiest pub to boss, so food service was slow. It is however worth the wait. The food is high quality and very good. Bill was £35 a head for two courses each, with three rounds of drinks.

Visited several times and really do enjoy the cross gaits. Very friendly staff, food is very good and the roast is huge.
Can't compliment you enough
Keep up the good work

Tried the Cross Gaits today for the first for a birthday lunch. Sorry, didn’t get your name but the female on duty was absolutely lovely and welcoming. Food was great and couldn’t fault anything. We had the bacon chop and pan seared salmon. Gorgeous, with the chocolate orange cheese cake and pumpkin pie deserts. I never order desert so for me to, a) order one, b) eat the lot speaks for itself. A perfect 10 out of 10 from us.

Lovely Sunday roast. Happy friendly staff providing excellent service. I thought it was pricey until I saw the portion size. We will definitely visit again.

Went midweek between Christmas and New Year. Large area for parking at the year but spaces are not marked out and didn’t see any designated disabled spots. If you have mobility problems you might struggle. There are a number of steps down to the rear entrance. The hand rail doesn’t come the full length. Steps out front as well to the entrance. I didn’t see any ramp for disabled access.
Menu wasn’t overly extensive but a good range of options available. However, there wasn’t any specials menu either which I had expected to see. I opted for the fish and chips with garden peas. My friend went for the chicken and leek pie after her starter of creamy garlic mushrooms. The portions were great. One of the biggest fish I have had in a pub or restaurant. And I really enjoyed it. The chips could have also been excellent but a few were very thick and therefore, a little undercooked. Otherwise very tasty. I opted for dessert. Chocolate orange cheesecake. Again very tasty but, for the price, I think the portion should have been bigger.
It’s no good me saying I would visit again as unfortunately the news suggests that this establishment will be closing in 2023. Based on my experience I doubt that this has anything to do with the quality of the food.

Visited The Cross Gaits for lunch purely because they had vegan options. The place itself is lovely with huge outdoor seating areas, fantastic on a sunny day and inside is modern but cosy. We ordered tofu bites, banana blossom fish n chips and wild mushroom & squash gnocchi. The food was delicious, good sized portions and we left clean plates. The staff were very friendly especially Adam who I presume is the landlord. The menu was slightly reduced as they had building works going on & storage was more limited, but a new menu is being released in July, so gives me an excuse to go back. Loved it and great the vegan options are satisfying dishes not some token gesture like salad.
