The Crooked Horn & rae's restaurant

When I visited for a meal with friends it was in the middle of being refurbished. However the staff were welcoming and the atmosphere friendly at the bar. The newly established restaurant has a good standard of food along with friendly staff also. A good fun night had by all. I can only see this establishment getting better once the surroundings are fully refurbished. Keep up the good work.

An old pub that's been refurbished, it's looking great. The restaurant area is small but the food is yummy, you could seat about approximately 40 to 50 people if not more. The Christmas menu was really lovely and there is an open bar. The parking is free and I believe its all wheelchair accessible...

Since re-opening last year this pub and restaurant has become a lovely place to visit and not too lively. The food is really nice, if you have a free evening then you need to try it. With Christmas just around the corner you should book in and enjoy the festivities, you won't be disappointed.

Not finished Renovations yet, so a little un- organised. We visited for our Anniversary meal last Saturday, party of 4. On arrival we noted areas outside where full off rubbish, wood fires, toilets, building equipment etc! Not a good start but decided to give it a try. Was fairly quiet when we arrived, so ordered drinks, 2 Sam Miguel, & 2 Bicardi with Flat Coke. New people so again gave them benefit of doubt. We went through from the bar area to the Grosvenor room, which is more of a function suite than a restaurant! Have to say as a function suite was beautifully done, but certainly not a cosy restaurant. Only one other couple dining in a vast room with centre dance floor, and numerous large tables surrounding it! Large bar are that wasn't in use, drinks apart from the Wine were dispensed from the front bar. On enquiring what wines they had, I was told white or red, by obviously a very uninformed waitress, who I must add was very pleasant! She invited me behind the bar to have a look and make my choice. I choice a Zinfandel, rose for my friend and a Chillian Chardonnay for myself. Neither were cold as fridges weren't on!
3 of us ordered Rib Eye Steak, 2 med rare, 1 rare, and the other meal their Steak Pie. The Steak pie and a complements were lovely, the steaks a disaster! One was cooked medium to well, one on the rare side of medium and the other well done. 2 we kept but returned the well done for rare, as ordered! The waitress apologized, but came back with a medium Rump Steak, that was in edible, think it had been microwaved!! Certainly looked it and was tough as old boots. Needless to say my friend only ate his salad and chips! This was discounted off the bill. The toilets, also unfinished, no loo rolls, no soap no hand dryer, but beautiful tiling, all brand new.
Overall very disappointed, especially, as a celebration dinner, but I'm sure when the renovations are fully complete the Crooked Horn, will be lovely! However bar staff Chefs and waiting on staff need some good training, very pleasant they all were, but total lack of products and product knowledge!

Have just had Sunday lunch here, and have to say it was delicious. Dining room has a nice atmosphere too. Would return without hesitation.

Very lovely vibe, you can tell that they're really making an effort to make you feel welcome! Haven't tried the food yet but sounds lovely and fresh!

Visited the place had a reunion with friends that used to meet up & we thought we be having food as the website does advertise this but sadly not, ni xe catch up with old friends shame about the place
